| My wife (36 mother of two newly teenage kids) wants to stat to carry her Glock 43x. She exclusively wears leggings when not at work and she's in scrubs while at work. At work shell probably use a dedicated ccw purse in a kydex purse holster. Her main issue is outside of work. She doesn't want a belly band and her leggings do not have pockets for a sticky holster. without changing her wardrobe am I missing anything to recommend to her? Short of her keeping it in her purse I'm at a loss and her and i both would prefer her to have it on body. |

There are several companies that make leggings for concealed carry with belt loops. This video shows three examples. She says the Alexo brand is her favorite, but also shows We The People (logos on the legs seem to advertise that you’re a gun person) and 5.11 (she says they’re thick with no pockets). She describes how she combines them with a thin gun belt for a holster. I think she makes a good point that leggings with a built in holster are a bad idea because they tend to be soft so the holster opening collapses and makes reholster difficult and potentially dangerous. Very cheap feeling, buckle is weak (have read several others saying this) and a G48 was a bit too tight. I've been looking at these, lots of options and they have a few other packs. Paige (IG: @somechickwhoshoots) does "what to wear when carrying" posts so women have an idea what to wear to help CC. My wife wears a lot of snug clothing, not much in the way of loose/bulky. She carries a P938 in a fanny pack (or whatever they're called these days) most of the time. Ocassionally IWB. She's tried the belly-band (not a fan), and has some leggings made for CC, but it's less than ideal (no trigger protection). If she's drawing, it's the last stand. We've stuck with We The People IWB holsters based on affordability and color/print options. We also support local biz, getting a couple custom-made ones from a small shop. The current issue is finding a comfortable holster for hiking/camping in bear country. Backpacks with fat hipbelts are difficult to deal with, and I'm not really excited to plunk down $250 for Kenai chest holsters (one for her, one for me). I might just do a binocular case, if I find one that works with Osprey packs. But I digress. |

If you were local to me I would point you to the female instructors at the nearest reputable shooting school. It may be worth your while to find one close to you. Also try A Girl and A Gun. They likely already have all the gear and will let your wife try before she buys….. That’s what happens around here. |

Another recommendation for the Enigma, and stay away from the Aliengear garbage that looks similar. The Crossbreed belly band is also nice, but a belly band and I can understand hating the things, they make me sweat like crazy. ETA> I went through the same crap with my wife.... I WANNA WEAR WHAT I WANNA WEAR, and then she tried one of my belts and my Tulster Oath and now she dresses appropriately for carry, because its so much more comfortable. Leggings are nice for bumming around the house, but if you want to carry, not a thing for being in public. |

There is a point where women not willing to adapt to carrying a gun need to be told, "OK cool, then just go hands on with the career criminal who just spent 5 years in prison with nothing to do but pump iron every day, good luck girl". Fortunatly none of those are in my houshold, but I've certainly seen a lot of them. |
| HAS SHE CONSIDERED A FANNYPACK? I USED TOTHINK WOMEN HAD IT MADE BECAUSE OF PURSES BUT TOO MANY MOTHERS AND GRANDMOTHERS LET THEIR KIDS JUST RANDOMLY DIG THROUGH THEIR PURSE FOR CANDY OR WHAT NOT. I STILL REMEMBER YEARS AGO AT CHURCH SITTING WITH MY BEST FRIENDS WIFE WHEN THE LITTLE GIRL SHE WAS BABYSITTING STARTED GOING INTO HER PURSE. I KNEW MY BUDDY HAD RECENTLY BOUGHT HER A J FRAME SMITH. I POLITELY REMINDED HER THAT THERE MAY BE THINGS IN HER PURSE THE CHILD DIDNT NEED TO MESS WITH BUT THAT EVENT TURNED ME OFF FROM WOMEN CARRYING IN THEIR PURSE. |
