I would like to sell a handgun but shipping costs so much. What are the alternatives to $35 Fed Ex next day ??? Thanks.....Mike

Unless you are a FFL, there aren't any. Both UPS and FedEx require you ship it Next Day Air. US Postal Service requires you to be a FFL to ship - "Handguns may be mailed by a licensed manufacturer or dealer of firearms or an authorized agent of federal government."

Also, both UPS and FedEx require you to ship the gun through their main customer counter centers (the Hub). You cannot legally ship it through The UPS Store, FedEx Kinko's, PakMail, Etc.

Someone told me that they ship handguns via UPS ground. They just do not tell the UPS guys whats in the package. What do you think of this ???

I have been tempted by this, since I know it is not law, but I have yet to try it. I think there would be no repercussions, but if your package was in some way lost or stolen, you'd be absolutely screwed.
