Are there any companies offering aftermarket frames where you could do a fullsize frame and a 19 slide?
I though lone wolf did but it appears I'm wrong. A 17 frame and 19 slide would be tits. I've got both and for the "use a 17 mag and sleeve" crowd there's a distinct hump difference. |

Those would let you do the opposite.. Or am I missing something? |

I had Lane from CBC reduce a 17 grip to a 19 grip. Longer right radius and more concealable, but I do like the OP's idea..... I've done that too http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=5&f=13&t=158772 Want to do the inverse. I do like what Lane did to his duty weapons, wonder how much longer it feels in the hand..... And the cost |

Originally I thought this was a silly idea. Then I saw that 19 with the RMR and muzzle brake (gun fighter?). After thinking about it for awhile I realized two things. One is that RMR's are the future creeping in slowly. They work great and you don't need a long slide pistol for it to work. Two is that competition guns end up being on the lengthy side because of aftermarket muzzle brakes being added on. So my new wish is that Glock build a 17 frame with a 19 or maybe even a 26 MOS slide, with a factory muzzle brake. Full capacity and grip size while keeping the overall slide length down for faster handling. It would be a fresh factory design based on custom pistols and in my opinion would be a trendsetter for competition pistols. The days of using longslides for the sight radius advantage is passing because of the RMR, it's time to take that into account and design the next must have gun in competition circles. |

Even if that did work, the frame would stick out farther than the slide. That's an easy fix http://images.dremeleurope.com/general/en/ocs/image/ocsjpg--/dremel%C2%AE4000-9180.jpg |

If you cut it off, what would retain the recoil spring? Quoted:

only IWB. OWB slide and brl matter more than grip. Quoted:

That's an X grip, right? Can you tell me where you got it and how much you paid? I guess I should just google it. Or are there more than one brand? After googling the x grips have a bit different profile on the finger part, or the front part. This one seems more straight. Maybe it's an older model? Or different company? |

I have been trying to figure out a way to pull that modification off as I am with you. I prefer the longer grip and shorter slide. My biggest gripe about the 19 is the back of the grip being slightly too short. I can live with the front, so I can up with a way to extend the back to sit flush with the magazine. It will work, at least until glock comes up with something better. :) http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff295/Texaspoff/DSC_0064_zpsb78ee590.jpg FWIW it extends the grip to almost the exact length of the 320 carry frame. Here is a shot of it next to my 320 carry. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff295/Texaspoff/IMG_1970_zpsmlrntlpm.jpg http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff295/Texaspoff/IMG_1969_zpspaswxov8.jpg TXPO Lane Shot you a PM and email - what's the best way to get a hold of you? |
