In specific terms this sums it up, basically 2 categories for simplicity; Magnetic: (Ferritic and Martensitic): Many steel magazines (such as 400-series stainless or carbon steels) are highly magnetic and will stick firmly to magnets. Non-Magnetic (Austenitic): Some magazines (especially those crafted from high-nickel and high-chromium 300-series stainless) are entirely non-magnetic. And then the outliers: Some stainless steel magazines sit in a gray area, possessing just enough magnetism for a basic fridge magnet to stick. Those that take on slight magnetic properties from heat treating and /or cold working fall into this category. |
| Got 4 from GT Distributors and they shipped super fast. Arrived loose in a padded envelope and they said they would be shipped minus their plastic packaging to save of shipping cost. The mags work in my Grit Grips 48 frame with their magwell. Now to get a local match to test them out live fire. |

I'm going to guess heat treated carbon steel, because that's what Mec-Gar says the tubes for their Glock mags are made of. ![]() https://mec-gar.com/shop/magazines/glock/glock-17-9mm-18-round/ |

Just got one from Aim. Ordered Wednesday night via snail mail shipping. So 3 day shipping. Heading to the range in a bit but... The 15rd I received doesn't drop free when empty. ETA. The 15 rounder worked great. Locks the slide back etc. The extra weight and little bit of length isn't noticeable at all. Getting that 15th round in is a mofo. It does NOT drop free in my G48 empty or loaded, factory 10 rounders drop free either way. |

Plus I used an Uplula magazine loader to save my fingers since springs are stiff. No issues, period. Now using them for my daily summer carry magazines. Thanks Glock! |
| I got out to the range today too. Ran about 100 rounds through one of my new mags and it did great. No malfunctions, Contrary to my last post it drooped fine and always locked back. Great magazines if the base plate doesn't bother you. I'm fine with it so when the rush slows down I will get more. Now to Zero that Vortex Defender ccw. I actually spent those rounds doing just that but I'm not satisfied. |

I read somewhere they made a very small change to the frame. It helped the S15 mags work better. I'm sure that wasn't the reason but the very small change was for the better. I cought hell for that post. Now it's more likely to be true... I hope the haters are seeing this. |

| Grit Grips 43x/48 frame is nice. Feels better than stock as they gave it a smidge more length and width in the grip. Stippling is better and grab their magwell also. Just enough to help with forcing your hand up into the grip better, if you have medium to large hands. I went tan for a 2 tone look. |

I am going to get a gray frame for my two-tone. lol |

I have some new mags on the way. Basically I retired my early gen 43x frame for a SCT... Attached File I really want to standardize with the new Glock mags. I'm going to ditch the Shield ones probably. However I picked up a CZ75 conversion kit prior to the OEM magazine announcement. I might run it to see how it functions. These use the same mags. 13 rd flush fit Jericho compact. Cz 75 compact and cz75 full size Attached File I think Mecgar could make a 13 round true flush fit. |
|
Attached File Trigger wasn't as bad as I recall the smaller glocks being. Regardless, 5 lbs striker spring, some polishing and a polydat helped. Cannot wait to shoot this thing. |
|
I would have rather they'd just went with 13-14 rounds instead of having that bulky base plate that looks like an afterthought and is essentially an extended magazine. Im hoping its not as apparent in person. |
Doesn't mean that much to me to mean that much to you.

I have a new 43X COA and was able to get a pair of the 15 round mags. Tried various ammo, ball is the only thing that is reliable. Anything else is FTF or stovepipe. Originally Posted By -MainDisconnect-: https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/366627/IMG_1966_jpeg-3783548.JPG |

I’d take that version as I would prefer to keep it as compact as I can. I like the grip length of the gun, I don’t really want to extend it. |

They've been fine with 115g ball, but I haven't tried my 147 Rangers yet. Here I thought maybe we'd finally have a reliable 15rd mag. I tried the Shields, no go. Tried the Derya's, work fine with FMJ but not HP's.... |

I thought that the screen grab looked to be IG but wasn't able to find it. And same, zero issues with my mags and 115 ball and 124 HST thus far in my gun. |

I have two magazines. Both work just fine with ball and my carry hollow points. Lock the slide back when empty, no problems whatsoever. I always test new magazines with ball and duty ammo before I use them in everyday carry. The little bit longer baseplate does not bother me at all. I am very glad I got them, and will be getting more. Any problems with the magazines out in the wild, while unfortunate I’m sure Glock will make right. |

I too wish Glock had gone with a true flush fit low profile mag of 13-14rd vs the extended 15rd. |

Bought a new 43X two weeks ago that came with the 15 rd mags. Ordered two more online and got those in. Took them all to the range today and fired about 200 rounds total through them. One magazine failed to lock back the slide when empty two times. The other three magazines worked 100%. |
