Mecgar usually makes excellent magazines. But I’ve seen too many issues with their Glock pattern Stacatto mags in Glock handguns.

I imagine mags manufactured for Glock and sold by Glock will have better Glock compatibility/testing than the Stacatto contract mags.

Yeah the short shorts guy (IDR his name RN) from TFB said Glock is planning on refreshing the micros and has another surprise in store for that, that he wasnt able to speak about, in his video about the Gen 6s. Hopefully theyre quality mags.

I talked to a sales rep today at Lipsey's about the 15rd 43x mags wanting to get on the list. He didn't have an ETA on the mags.

So far they are the only one of my distributors that show them on there website.

Did my Glock Armorer recert.  Spoke with the Glock guys there and they confirmed 15 round G43x mags coming in about a month.  Will use OEM mag catch and be a metal body.  The way they described it sure sounds similar to the MecGar mags.  Also mentioned that the A Cut Gen 6 Glocks will be released before the Glock/COA combination will.

How many years late is Glock on this?  Shield has like 3 generations and Palmetto has a couple.  ACT-mag is making metal 15rd 43x mags that ship with the Derya DY9Z.

The Derya's also recommend a metal mag release.

And Glock is always late on everything but it will still make them lots of money because we will buy.

Anyone tested out the 15rnd ACT mags, yet? Far as I’m aware, they’ve got as good a reputation as MecGar.

Derya is using the ACT mag. From what I have seen online (2 videos) they are not working very well in their micro clone. It's a strange clone. 43x size frame with a Glock 26 size slide.

That is a little odd. Think I remember someone made a similar setup for the 320 with 365 mags.

I’m more intrigued by the prospect of using them in a G43X, though. Shield arms has been chasing their tails trying to get their mags working, I’d give ACT the benefit of doubt since they’re a magazine manufacturer and ought to know wtf they’re doing.

The MM CZ75 conversion seems to be picky when it comes to ammo selection, and they don’t like 147 HST.

I'm using the Derya / ACT 15 round mags. They have worked fine for me, but my experience is limited so far about 100 rounds through each of the 2 I have. I mentioned them in the G43x Magazine thread awhile back.

Standard MO for Glock.

Release about 75% of what customers ask for. Sell a bazillion. Release an update with the remaining 25% (but also probably lack in other areas now). Sell a bazillion more.

Didn’t know they were the OEM for Shield. CM can make decent mags, but they’re definitely not the best, and the 15rnd 43X seem to be the most finnicky to get working due to the magwell being designed with excess space front and back for the polymer coated mags.

Supposedly, they’re working on something with Taran tactical, as well.

Yeah I want to be excited about this because im a big Glock guy. But the ship has sailed for me on Glock slimframes. I have a Hellcat pro comp thst works great and I can shoot a single ragged hole 3 round group with at 15 yards offhand and 2.5" groups at 30. I dont see any reason to drop it and get a  G48. I love Glock and I love the reliability but this really isnt gunna do much for me. Still might get one.

Honestly I dont know why they are so hit and miss. I doubt Glock frames vary much so why can I have 7 that run well but the next guy cant get any to run in their gun? Spotty QC would mean I should have a couple that work and a few that dont. My issue was using their +5 extensions so my reload is a TTI +5 that works great

Well, I picked it up today and it came with 10-round mags. The guys at GT Distributors in Rossville, GA said they've been told the new 15-round mags should be in stock mid-April. They also said that Shield Arms apparently called them trying to dump a shit-ton of S15 mags.

I've noticed the same thing. More times than I can count I've seen accounts of no issues whatsoever or absolute failure. It makes no sense.

A lack of, or inconsistent QC is unacceptable to me. Gambling on if a magazine will function or not, especially when I need it most, is also unacceptable.

That's why I won't buy Shield mags. It's not worth the risk, hassle or money.

I will likely pickup another one once the new mags are in the wild though. Havent felt like getting a duplicate gun and hoping it was also reliable with the current mags I have

Mine were ,1st gen?  I honestly don't remember. Case in point I was practicing reloads one day and  I fumbled one of the Shields, when it hit the floor in my office it came apart in a most violent fashion.. hollow points there, base plate here, spring over there .  I was WTF?  Now Shield replaced them  as they should have.  I never tried them though.  Reverted back to  OEM mag release and mags.

Your correct about the latest drop of Glocks coming with 10rd magazines, I received a few this week. But, I don’t see Glock holding back the COA in any model just to unload 10rd magazines. They could sell everyone that they want to twice over. Aimpoint was the bottle neck in the supply chain. Plus there is a market for the 10rd magazines in restricted states.

Whoever makes them, Glock has all of the design specs that are known to make magazines run in their guns, like feed angle and spring strength, among other nuanced parameters. I am looking forward to OEM mags.
