Just got a new G26.
Anyone have a suggestion as to the best aftermarket guide rod to replace the plastic one?
Thanks.

Just curious, are you having a problem with your stock one?  I now it’s plastic but I have never heard of one breaking.

No, have not even shot it yet.
Just seems to be a lot of talk over at glocktalk about replacing them with metal.

WHY oh why dont people shoot their guns instead of listening to laptop ninjas? try your gun before you put crap on it.

I've never had an issue with the stock recoil spring assembly in my 26. I would rather have the stock than an aftermarket.

I hear Glockmeister makes a decent steel assembly.

26 is fine. It's the 27 1 that may give a problem. So just shoot & enjoy your 26 & forget about it.
For the record I replaced mine with a metal 1 on my 27 because as a SD carry gun I choose to. 1 less point of failure. Now I had 1K+ through the stock 1 & no problems, but I FEEL better replacing it on the 27 & only the 27.

Glocktalk is mostly retarded, nowadays.

Never seen anything to indicate there's a real problem with the stock rod.  Best advice would be to shoot it and not worry about it.

Leave it alone.
