I owned one Glock previously (it was a gift from a friend) but hardly ever shot it.
The DoD hired me as a contract physician/surgeon and the 7th group comprised a cohort of people I treated. They taught me quite a bit about weapons, and it seemed like 99% of them swore by the Glock (either 17 or 19). Now it's my primary sidearm. Their argument was that it always goes "bang". That's it. Never heard one comment about ergonomics, accuracy, etc. It's just a highly reliable pistol. I like how they think. |

The SF guys I've worked with on this deployment had the Glock 19 MOS, some had Surefire X300Us and the only one I saw using an optic on it was running a Doctor. Most all had Safariland 6354DO holsters.

I only own one Glock. G19/4 FXS with Ameriglo N/S. I am curious though if SF will ever be issued the G19X or is that even a legit question?
Flame away, I am a Glock newb. |

I'm sorry to coming to this very established thread cool, but given the adoption of the Sig by a few of these services, do you think the seals will go that way as well?
From a logistics standpoint, they can replace the mk26 and 27 with the 230 system. I'm not a 230 hater, but I'd like to think that the Glock was adopted for its reliability and they will hang on to it. |

There is but one truth in the world and it is all yours. If you are not sure of it stay at home; but if you are sure don't look back and it will be your way.

SOCOM issues on top of that. So Glocks stay on teams. At least in the Army thats how it works.. SF teams get issued everything a Infantry Company gets (for 12 dudes).. Then on top of that all SOPMOD / SOCOM issue. Every SF team has boxes of crap (Weirdo optics and lasers) Issued by regular Army that never get used. |

SOCOM won't adopt the M17/M18 and replace the Glocks until they prove themselves in the long run. Will SOCOM use the new SIGs? Yes, as Stukas87 stated when mother Army replaces the Groups M9s for M17, they'll be there. I'm another fan of the M9 just don't have the option of drawing on out.

Is the Trijicon RMR actually used on Glocks overseas? Its obviously the optic of choice in lots of member’s pics but im not sure ive seen one in a picture of a “deployed” Glock?
Is this because its just easier to pick up a replacement Docter Optic if one fails sonce they’re in the system? |

To re ask a question from above, any groups using or plan to use the 19X?
seems the 19X would be the perfect gun for SOCOM, even in a world of Sig. |
