I like 1911s and want something a little bit different. The "CCO" style is shorter slide, shortened frame correct? I'm thinking an aluminum frame or is that a bad idea? Front serrations are not wanted. Good, hi viz night sights. Commander ring style hammer. Non ambi safety. Thin grips.

Does such a pistol exist? And if so, how much?

CCO is Commander (4.25") slide, Officer frame.   AL frame is OK with these.

I know Colt made a run of these in the past.   I think there is a Wiley Clapp CCO version offered by TALO that looks like a decent package.

Interdasting..

What about magazines? Do the higher end makers (CMC, Wilson, ect.) offer nice magazines? Or am I better off with the stock mags?

The Dan Wesson is calling my name, just the standard CCO model. Where is the best place to find one?
