Is anyone doing a copy of the Detachment 1 1911?
Or is the Kimber Warrior that close?

Or is this a question by an un-informed 1911 user?

Honestly, an older first generation KImber Custom Classic is closer to a ICQB (Det-1 pistol) than the Warrior.  The ICQBs didn't have an integral rail.  Just add the Kimber ambi safety, a set of Novak night sights, and a Dawson rail and Surefire military light if you so desire.

If you hunt back in this forum, I think there's some info posted in the big MEU(SOC) .45 thread.

If you look hard enough you should be able to find an original for $3500-4000.  There have been a couple on gunbroker in the last six months.

Gonna start with Kimber Custom series 1
add Novak rear site
add GI guid rod
add ambi safety
add flat msh w/ loop
add STI or Ed Brown grip safety
add coyote gunner grips
add Dawson rail for Surefire X300  (or possibly other type of light)
Cerakote  in gray/black (I know it should be parked, but I am starting with a SS gun)

I would look for the oldest Kimber you can afford.
