For the purposes of this thread, dual-use magazines will be defined as a magazine family which feeds both a longgun and a handgun/ "other" scattergun from the same maker, or multiple guns from different manufacturers. Don't order 87 mags until you've tested your weapon w/ a given mag, and checked actual function at a shooting range. Be sensible about caliber - no mag will feed .45 ACP into a SUB200 - the SUB2000 isn't in .45 ACP. Sometimes, in a pinch: ![]() "thats not gonna work it's a Sig mag!" |

Quoted: ParaOrdnance - Glock https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/173129/D091B111-C749-425E-9DE4-2BDB5928C686-1908755.jpg That's beautiful - does the mag catch have to be changed or the magazine modified? |
|
Quoted: Walther P99AS 9mm  Also fits P99c AS compact (with slip on sleeve adapter), P99 first gen, and PPQ M1 (Paddle mag release). Nice to know, but a manufacturer using the same mag for different pistols is inside pool. Looking for mags that are used in rifles & pistols, or the same mag used by different manufacturers. ETA: Did the S&W 99 use the same mags as the Walther? |

Quoted: .... Â Did anyone else use S&W 41 mags? Quoted: Quoted: Â S&W 41 mags are used in a bunch of other S&W pistols. Â 422, 2206, 2213, etc. The Keltec P11 used Smith 59 series mags. .... Â Did anyone else use S&W 41 mags? I don't know of any. I did a quick search and, to my surprise, I did not find any foreign copies of the 41. I would think that the 41 would be an excellent example of a design that the Chinese could (poorly) copy and make a few bucks doing so. |

Didn't they copy the Walther Olympia, or was that someone else? |

Quoted: Sent em an email, we'll see what they say. Quoted: Quoted:  Somebody correct me if I am wrong but I believe CZ P10 magazines fit the Arex Delta. Sent em an email, we'll see what they say. I tested this last week with the P09/P10F mag and it functioned including slide locking back on last round. The full size mag sticks out about an inch below the mag well, I didn’t have a P-10c mag to test. Attached File The CZ mag has a more tapered top (CZ is the top mag in the picture below) but it works in case there is a supply problem with the Arex Attached File |

Quoted: Yes.  The frames for the SW99 were made by Walther in Ulm.  S&W made the slides and barrels.  The only outlier is the SW99 45, as Walther made no 45acp pistols until the PPQ came along. Looks like Magnum Research had a model as well, are the magazines compatible? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walther_P99 The Magnum Research MR Eagle was another joint American/German venture, with Walther producing a black polymer frame with integral steel rails similar to the P99 series, only differing in grip texture and with the short magazine release paddles from the first gen P99. For its part, Magnum Research Inc. produced a 416 stainless steel slide and 4140 CrMo steel barrel in their Pillager, MN factory in the United States. The MR Eagle series pistols were available in 9×19mm Parabellum (MR9) and .40 S&W (MR40). |
| Added the Saiga 12ga mag, as I've seen "other" scatterguns w/ Saiga mags. I presume there's an "other" scattergun that takes the MKA1919 Turkish mag, but if not, I'll take it off. Remington, before the bankruptcy, had announced mag fed 870s in both shotgun and "other" scattergun formats, but looks like the new company out of bankruptcy has chose to orphan those guns - not even ProMag offers a Remington shotgun mag. Mossberg has a pump out w/ detachable magazines, but no "other" scattergun using it. |

Quoted: Of course. Looks like Magnum Research had a model as well, are the magazines compatible? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walther_P99 Yes indeed. I have several MR mags that I use in my P99s. Same mag as the ones that come with P99s with the Magnum Research logos molded in the floor plate as opposed to a Walther logo. All made by Mec Gar I do believe. |
| In the days before the AWB, RamLine made a clear plastic mag touted as fitting both the Mini-14 and AR-15. They were cheap enough, so I bought half a dozen, and yup, they worked equally badly in both rifles. Absolutely would not feed in an AR, and when you pulled back the op rod of the Mini, the entire contents of the mag went flying skyward-- Might have worked better if they had known they needed metal stiffeners in the feed lips-- |

Absolutely would not feed in an AR, and when you pulled back the op rod of the Mini, the entire contents of the mag went flying skyward-- Might have worked better if they had known they needed metal stiffeners in the feed lips-- I listed that as the Ram Line TriMag. I've got quite a few from picking em up here & there @ gunshows, and have run em in my AR & Commando223's Mini-14 w/o issues. I've tried them in 3 AR-180's - they wouldn't fit in 2 of em, one of em being a Sterling - but fit in another Sterling & operated the bolt catch. Maybe the modern M4 ramp makes the difference? |
|
Quoted: Extar EP9 braced pistol uses Glock mags. Compiling an exhaustive list of guns that use Glock mags is a fool's errand. They have become the AR mag of the PCC, and I am always amused by the rage against them. But we're not going to try to list every single PCC example available. Noteworthy guns, like the Mossberg, will be listed. |
|
Quoted: Remington RP9 and RP45 use Para mags as well. Â As do all of the RIA and Springfield double stack 1911s. Good to know for the Remington, as it doesn't look as if RemArms is going to produce the RP series. I never did understand what was wrong w/ the RP series, other than no aftermarket & it was bulky. |
|
Quoted: Almost all of the old 9mm mags are interchangeable in that regard. Quoted: Quoted: Beretta M9/92FS mags will work in P228's if you cut in a notch. Found that out when I deployed with a M11 and didn't have enough mags. Â Desperation lead to ingenuity Almost all of the old 9mm mags are interchangeable in that regard. In general, I'm not going to note that unless a gun is out of production, such as the Goncz. 1911 mags can be cut to work in HiPoints as well, but I feel the better solution is the Thingmeister mag catch. Also true of Uzi mags to convert to Uzi Pro or Colt 9mm mags. |
|
Quoted: Not a pistol, but my Mossberg MVP in .308 takes both AR 10 and M1A style magazines. If it could take the FN FAL mags it would be perfect. I've been in a bit of a bother about the .308 mags - LR308, Armalite, M-14, FAL, & CETME/G3, as well as the AICS mags. If someone will post up pics of a commercially produced pistol which uses one of those mags, I'll post up that mag above. I need to add the Sterling mags, as there was a Sterling pistol imported here, IIRC. |
|
Obscure ones, but: - the Steyr M-series (M9 , M40) will work with Smith and Wesson Sigma magazines IF you cut a new mag catch slot. - Colt SMG 9mm works with Uzi magazines IF you cut a new mag slot - Springfield Armory XD pistols in 9mm generally work with their .40 magazines, and the 10 round .40 mags hold 12 rounds of 9mm for those of you in unconstitutional ban states. Thanks for doing this, old friend. |

Went looking for mag blocks. Found the Stern & the X-Mag, covering Glock(of course), Beretta 92, CZ P10, CZ 75, SIG P250/320, & M&P mags (including .45 ACP). Any magblocks I'm missing? A 1911 one was announced, but I've never seen it produced. I'd think an XD mag block would sell well. |

Quoted: Beretta M9/92FS mags will work in P228's if you cut in a notch. Found that out when I deployed with a M11 and didn't have enough mags. Â Desperation lead to ingenuity I learned this from a supply guy who worked with the SEALs at Dam Neck years ago. They would notch the Beretta mags to work in both the P226 and the M9. My wife carries an M9A1 and I carry a P226. I wanted some extra mags but wasn't going to pay Sig prices. Bought a pile of surplus M9 mags and made a jig to notch them for the Sig mag catch. Worked great and we can interchange magazines. For EDC I still use the OEM mags, but for range days/training it's nice to have a shit ton of cheap mags. |
