Local shop has a couple Aluminum CCF race frames. Seems like it would  be a really cool way to build up a Glock.

Anyone have one?

Some one here seemingly has the last of the production.

I get why they didn't catch on at the time, but I'm wondering if there's anything negative about their performance.

I'm looking to be talked into or out of it.

There were some problems but unfortunately it's been long enough I can't remember the specifics. One popped up for sale locally and when I was researching it came up with a few threads about problems.

The last information I remember seeing on their website was emphatic about only being compatible w/ Glock parts.  I'd love to have an aluminum framed 26 w/ a rail.

Nevermind.

I drove down the street and am buying  a Blue label G19.4

If I decide to go back and buy it, I can guarantee it will still be there no matter how long I wait.

The plastic clamshell was yellow, brittle, and cracked and the salesman said they've been there several shop names and locations ago.

I think it would be s sick setup with a Unity slide, fitted bbl, etc...

I fent! Even after buying a G19, I still had a hankering to build a really cool project, and couldn't put it out of my mind.

You should do a build thread once completed and post a link in here. Love to see how it comes together.

I was able to get it complete NIB with internals for $330.

Yeah, Ill try to do that. Might be a while  because it's not a cheap setup.

I'm thinking:
ATOM slide (with iron sight adapter until I can afford the MRDS)
OEM upper parts
Zev dimpled bbl
Zev trigger shoe
Duracoat the frame black

What I'm debating right now is whether to go with a threaded barrel and try a TBRCI glock comp.

But like I said, it's not a cheap project and wont be done anytime soon. I'll probably have to send it out to have the locking block and barrel fit.

Update: Slide came in.

I found a Unity G17 slide with an RMR plate for $400 shipped over on Glock Talk.

Now I need:
OEM threaded 17 barrel
OEM slide internals
RMR
TBRCI Brake

I'd also like to get a flat trigger shoe (Apex or Overwatch) and get the frame refinished black if I'm not utterly broke at the end of this.

Any chance you could weigh it vs the gen 4 lower?

I'm looking for one or a timberwolf frame.

Sorry, I don't have a scale here or a G4 frame.

I'll see next week if we have a postal scale at work, but can't promise anything.

ETA: my Gen4 is a G19, so it wouldn't be a great comparison.

I have a stainless frame from their early production days and it has run every bit as reliable as a factory Glock. It probably has 10-12k rounds through it. Just change out the shock buffer every now and then and you shouldn't have a problem.

I've been talking to a guy on instagram named @pop_goes_the_glock who has a few CCF frames.

He's confirmed my decision not to use Lonewolf stuff, but he's had great luck with Zev Tech barrels in these guns.

Additionally, he's pretty convinced on the need for a shokbuff although I've read with 9mm it's not needed. Adding the shokbuff increases the recoil spring weight, and so me using the comp might mean I need to get a range of recoil spring weights to try out. I'll need to do some playing around once this thing gets completely put together.

My biggest goal is not needing to send it off to get anything fitted.

My buddy picked one up from Summit Gun Broker a few months ago for a steal, along with a PD trade in 17.  He's had it refinished with a moly resin coating (?) from RYG, and says it's awesome.  He did have to do some fitting on the trigger and the magazine release.  Other than that, i think he may have 100-200 rounds through it, and says he loves it.
