I just received a package from Wolff Gun springs. Included was both a 14 & 15lb recoil spring with firing pin springs and their competition mainspring or hammer spring.

Also, I have a Beretta "D" spring on order.

I've replaced the stock mainspring with the competition spring and there is a world of difference. I put the 15lb recoil spring in to off-set the lighter mainspring. I thought I'd use the 14lb spring with the "D" spring.

So here's the list of questions:

-Does one need to change the firing pin spring when changing the recoil spring? What is the advantage, disadvantage or need? How does one change the firing pin spring?

-According to Olhasso, the "D" spring changes the DA trigger pull weight to 10lbs and the SA to approx. 5lbs. Olhaso also states that his "competition" hammer spring will change the DA trigger pull weight to 9lbs and SA to about 4.5lbs. Does anyone have any idea what the trigger pull might be for Wolff's "competition" hammer/mainspring? I'm curious to know how the Beretta "D" spring is going to compare to Wolff's "competition".

My goal is to get the DA pull as light as possible and the SA pull to as close to 5lbs WITHOUT going under. Thoughts? Am I missing something crucial?

I did the Wolff spring change for both the mainspring and trigger return spring. I don't have enough weight to do a double action measurement, but my single action is a hair over 5#. I also use a moly paste lube on the  hammer\sear surfaces.

I did the whole spring change out on all of my 92's but left the FPS alone as it requires punching out some pins to do this & that's more involvement than I wanted.

I should add that I didn't change the firing pin spring for the same reasons that Bob Cole stated.
