Just picked this up. Normally I don't have much use for a subcompact 2011, but I've felt the need to gain some more experience with them lately... have had a few cross my bench and it'll be good to have this one running right as a reference example.

Absolutely buttery smooth, trigger is a little long will probably be changing it out after I have a chance to shoot it. Slide to frame fit is as tight as my Wilson 1911. I’m going to switch out the optic plate eventually. The SRO came installed from Kimber so I didn’t have a choice at plates to use. Attached File Attached File |

Got a gen 1 sti grip from a member here. The MSH swapped over ok, but the mag release from Tisas doesn't fit, so I swiped one from my 19P to use for now till I can get another Gen 1 release. Also need to find 2 more black grip screws. Grip feels a lot better than the Tisas one.

Sunday carry   Also picked up a brand new C2 this week for $1,800. Then I went and sold 215 lbs of brass casings and made $350 so boy math I ended up $1,450 out of pocket for said C2  I had/carried a C2 back in 2021-2022 but like a dummy I sold it.. Been wanting another but didn't want to pay msrp plus tax until this score! Want the Eleven 71 plate + SRO set up for the C2 like I have on the P but Eleven 71 is currently 10+ weeks back up..   |

2011-ish enough… Wilson Combat 4” eXperior NHC IOS optic cut Magnaporting I wanted a compact gripped 4-4.25” double stack… I didn’t like Wilson’s or Staccatos tall-ass red dot height, and NHC only offered full length grips. Didn’t want the wait/price of a full custom and I didn’t want to dump more money into just a Stacatto C2.

Slide fitment is very nice… not as tight as my Les Baers or full customs, but zero rattle nonetheless. When it’s clean and lubed it feels like slick glass. Mags are like $30-35 on sale - that’s nice. The trac checkering pattern is better than the X-Tac and a very positive grip despite not being “sharp”. Between that and the G10 panels, it feels every bit as secure in the hand as good 20LPI checkering or coarse stippling without tearing up hands/clothes. (My 20LPI sharp checkered Les Baer has messed up a bunch of t shirts.) I will say even though the grip is smaller than a 2011 because the mag tubes are built for 9mm, the overall grip has a “rounder” profile with the grip panels almost like a Beretta M9. The gripless SFT and SFX without the panels have that flat-sided 2011 grip profile (albeit smaller all around). Shoots flat with the magnaporting, but still not quite as flat/soft as a well sprung steel framed 4.5-5” 9mm 1911/2011. Still flatter/softer than a C2 and definitely way flatter than its Glock 19C predecessor. It’s a tack driver… the iOS system is fantastic. Somehow IOS is simultaneously egregiously overpriced yet also completely worth it. Gripes? I wish it had a higher grip on the beavertail so it would sit lower in the hand. Most high cut beavertails sit so high there’s even a cutout for the cocked hammer to sit down in the tail… these have an actual gap between the beavertail and cocked hammer. And there seems to be no mechanical reason they couldn’t be high cut other than Wilson wanted to spend less time/money blending or something. (??) I wish Wilson offered a steel-framed double stacks. I’d rather carry a few more ounces if it meant an even tougher frame with even less recoil. |

 Got my Holster, Mag Carrier and Belt from Ronin Leather Holsters, a fairly local company. I will post a full review some time this week. Might have been the wrong kinda gun for this holster as I am coming from carrying AIWB and feel like I am printing like crazy. Definitely quality work. |

Decided to take a 2011 family photo for no particular reason. ACW Quantico HiCap Carry, Guncrafter Industries X2 Hellcat Government, and STI DVC Tactical 9mm. I grabbed all three around the same time- Summer/Fall '24- to mark a milestone birthday AND buy for myself retirement gifts knowing I'll never retire. Of course, this was around the same time my son achieved Terrible Toddler Time, so I haven't had as much trigger time as I'd like to have. All three made it through sea trials, but only the ACW has gotten a good workout and is carried on a regular basis. Attached File Attached File |
