Too cool not to share. 720*480 resolution, 1 hour battery/record time on a 4gb micro SD card. Gonna see how much fun can be had for a lousy $20 http://www.themicrocamera.com |

Gonna see how much fun can be had for a lousy $20 http://www.themicrocamera.com I'm not putting my car keys on a remote control rocket just to take some video. What if it gets stuck in a tree or goes over someone's fence with an aggressive dog. Fuck that! |

A couple years ago I bought 3 of these off ebay for $50. I only opened one and it works ok. There are tons of different versions of these cameras and not all of them work. |

you want the 808#3, 808 #11, and 808#16. I'm currently making a poormans gopro with a 808 #16, a spice container, some foam, a watch crystal, and a $4 deal extreme suction cup mount Yep and unless the seller in OP's link is testing each unit, $20 each is too much. In fact, that website seems highly suspect to me since the cameras have been around forever and are just made in China with spare cellphone parts from China. |

Hi,
Owner of www.themicrocamera.com here. Thank you all for your interest! As a few of you have seen, http://chucklohr.com/808/ as well as the RC Groups thread have a wealth of information about the 808 camera. It comes in at least 18 variants so far, some which have great quality and some which are barely usable. The only 720x480 version that I would consider 'sellable' is the #3 version, so that's the only version I stock. I do test each camera before shipping. My site is the only reliable #3 supplier listed on Mr. Lohr's site. Also, I'm American and ship with USPS, so as you can see, orders are generally delivered 2-4 days after purchase. Returns are just as easy. My goal is to take out the hassle you might see if you bought direct from China. Sure, at this price point it's not for everyone. You might save a few dollars if you buy direct, but if you buy from me you can rest assured you'll get the best. I'm certainly not in the business of ripping anyone off. Regards, Mark Bobbe The Micro Camera |

9mm or .45? Chili w/ beans or w/o beans? It seems like a bad idea to admit it on this forum, but I've never owned a gun. I do like beans in my chili, though. All hell. In before the shitstorm.
Welcome aboard. your camera looks cool. I may buy one. |

Quoted: So what model is the sweet spot between quality and cost? Last I checked, they go for around $10 on eBay, but most sellers don't tell you what model they're selling you, and they may not even know themselves. As a result, you could get great value for money, or you could get a $10 piece of junk. Since the website in the OP is selling what is widely considered the best model AND he tests them, I'd just go with that. |

And don't worry, most of us don't have any guns either, people around here seem to suffer from tragic boating accidents often. Do you have a waterpoof version of your camera? |

I don't sell one, but Chuck Lohr has some great tips if you're into DIY stuff: http://chucklohr.com/808/#UnderwaterMod (edit: Not sure if you were serious about that.) |

Think it would stand up to the shock of being mounted to a weapon for groovy medium speed coperator run and gun antics? They're solid. I'd recommend a piece of velcro or something similar rather than direct contact between the camera and the barrel. Without a cushion, heavy vibration can result in visual artifacts from the CMOS sensor. |

Anyone know how well they operate in low light conditions? My cellphone cameras are nothing but a blur in low light. This might answer your question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwnMh4vtRGk |

Whoa whoa whoa, we can't have people who actually understand and support their products giving good advice here. Get. Out. /On the other hand, useful information would be nice, so pretend you didn't read that |

To record my interactions with the po-lice. Seriously. Look what happened the day before yesterday in Dallas. (The Micro Camera wasn't used, though). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyYlRZAdPGk You have to do your own research when it comes to using TMC to record the police, I'm not liable for anything. But in my own personal opinion, if there's a law that says you can't record a cop, that's a problem. You should have the freedom to take your own video evidence of any public police interaction. |
This should be fun.
