Ok...

CNN is talking about a double grenade attack on a tent..

They are refering to it as a "terrorist attack".

Is any Iraqi defense attack on Allied troops somehow a TERRORIST attack?

Do not missunderstand...I hope they find and kill the guys who tossed the grenades...

However.....this in in no way a terrorist attack.....

IS IT??

Sapper attack at 101st Airborne base camp in Kuwait. Unknown number of intruders infiltrated through wire at Camp Pennsylvania and threw hand grenades into two tents. 10 injured, unknow if the sappers were caught, are KIA or got away.

It was the command tent that was bombed. Two men were wearing either US or Kuwaiti army uniforms. Now it is beleved that they may have been either from amongst the Iraqi exile interpreters or from attached Kuwaiti liason staff or at least were wearing their uniforms and insignia.

CNN reporting they were indigenous personnel working on the base. That's something I'll never understand about the US Military. They let indigenous personnel work on the base all the time. They cook, clean, and perform various other duties on base. That's a huge security liability if you ask me. Wasn't there a plot to poison food served to the military a few months ago in Kuwait? If so, why in hell are they still allowed to cook and serve food to our personnel?

Sappers would be the correct term..

If they were out of uniform for the attack.....

That makes them Terrorists??  It sort of takes away from them being regular soldiers..

More into the sabotage vien.....or spy..

Fox is reporting that they were on post as translators and were wearing American desert camo.  Two grenades into a command tent at ~0200 local.

Fox is reporting that all foreign nationals except for reporters, the Iraqi exiles serving interpreters, and Kuwaiti army and police liason personnel were ordered off on Thursday evening before Bush delivered the end of deadline speech.

Where was the security for a command tent?? There have been many warnings about dangers to the troops "behind the lines".

Some heads will roll for this screw up in security.

It was a horrible thing to have happen, but you've got to admit that this was a pretty ballsy move and was obviously planned out since they went after the command tent.

I wonder what sort of measures will be taken now for increased security, both behind the lines and on the front lines.  This bodes ill for our eventual occuapation.  I hate to think of our troops coming under these sorts of attacks all the time in Baghdad after the war is over.

Its not a hard thing to imagine. Most if not all of the rifle battalions have gone into Iraq so all they got are MPs and REMFs from supply and maintance left to provide their own security.

Someones head is gonna role for this. That is for sure.
