I attend college online. The college I attend just sent this e-mail about ethinicity.
At XXX, for various reasons, it is important for ethnicity to be properly reported. Many students can claim multiple ethnicities but the XXX application has restricted the student to one choice. So, if you can claim additional ethnicity, then please reply to xxxxxxxxxx with your name and ethnic groups. Ethnic groups are: Asian, Black/African American, Latino/Hispanic, Native American or White. Thanks for your help. My response was: My ethinicity is none of your business, unless you can explain why you need it, for various reasons. Jim WTF? If they find out my ethnicity will they discriminate against me? What could be the real purpose of this? |
