PROBLEM # 1: You would be in possession of a post 1986 MG unless you had a FFL/SOT. PROBLEM #2: Possession of the tube and parts kit may be constructive possession or intent to manufacture. PROBLEM #3: Once you start cutting the tube, I would again think you would be in contructive poossession and definitely once the weapon would could accept the fire control parts and fire. |
| to my understanding you can legaly manufature a Sten if you have a 16 inch barrel...and have the bolt lathed to a smaller OD as to inhibate f/a fire. The only probelem..is that the 80% tubes you can buy are the wrong ID and will only constitute the manufature of a FA sten. if you want a sten make your own reciever tube, mill the bolt, get a 16 inch barrel, mark it yours and NEVER ever ever sell it...with out paying the fed tax that is. |
has to be converted to fire on a closed bolt as well. I built one a couple of years ago using a kit from these guys www.semiautosten.com and it shoots fine. |
