pros and cons of bigger phones like iphone6 plus and samsung galaxy note 4
I would like to hear the hive's thoughts please no android vs ios apple fanboy/android beastmode bs talk just i am thinking of getting a big ass phone like this what do you like and dislike about it umkay? |

I got one after my dad had one for a while and I got sick of him telling me how awesome it was.
Thought I would hate it and return it after a couple days. It's the best thing ever. When I handle a normal size phone now, I'm like "how the hell do you do anything on this tiny screen?" Internet browsing, emails, videos, typing texts, google maps, literally everything is 100x better on the bigger screen. The size is weird at first, but you get used to it. I have a Note 3 in an otterbox case, so it's not exactly small, but its no more awkward than carrying a standard phone. Fits in the front pocket of my jeans just like a normal phone. |

I would get one but I'm not eligible for an upgrade for another year |

I carried a 7" phablet for over two years, and loved it. It was a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P3100. I only recently switched to a Galaxy S4Active, because I couldn't get a new phablet with the features I wanted.
The best I've found was a Galaxy Tab 4 7", but it has a shitty camera and I don't believe it support Bluetooth LE, which is the feature that put my old one out to pasture. |

I just upgraded to the IPhone 6+ and love it. Its about as big as I would go. This! Got one a last week and I really love it. However I would NOT go any larger. Reading ARFCOM is so much easier and lots of other things is easier to read. an hour after I got it I had to use my old iPhone 5 and I couldn't believe how small and heavy it felt.
I was going to get an iPad mini and I am so glad I didn't and got the 6+, it fills both rolls very well. |

I have a Galaxy S5, and my old phone was an iPhone 4. Seriously, it only took me a day to get used to the bigger phone and now I'm not sure I'd ever go back to a small phone. I like a bigger phone much better than a small one now. Edit I don't care which OS is on the phone. I'm all about what I can do with it. Regardless off who makes it I will be sticking with a bigger screen. I read a book on my old iPhone. It was torture.

more opinions please note 4 and iphone 6plus are my two main targets are there other comparables? I just went from an iPhone 4s to 6+. For what I use it for it's awesome. Surfing/texting/emailing etc. I pick up my 4s now and have no clue how the fuck my eyes focused in on that little screen, though it was a lot more easy to hold. That being said, I still wouldn't go back to it. Love the 6+. |

Exactly this. My 5s felt TINY. Love the size of the 6 Plus. You get used to it quick and it doesn't seem big. Giggity |
| I own the Note 4. Lots of screen room, s pen is nice, best picture of any cell phone Ive seen. Removable battery and SD card. Fast charging is the shizzle. The only thing I dont like about it, even at 6'3 and large hands, the phone is ackward to use with one hand. Also because of the size you can pretty much kiss any bulky case goodbye if you want to carry it in your pocket. |

OnePlus One here. 5.5'' screen. Went to the OnePlus from the Nexus 5 (5'' screen). No downsides, IMO. Fits in my pocket just as the Nexus did. I can still use the phone one handed. I'm diggin my OPO. Probably the biggest I'd ever want to go. I like some of the features of the Nexus 6... but that's just a little too big. |
|
I have the smaller iPhone 6. It's just too big in my opinion. I like the feel of a smaller phone, and the bigger screen really isn't isn't that big of a deal.
I could see getting a larger phone if I traveled a lot and used my phone to watch a ton of videos and stuff I would probably have a different opinion and want a bigger screen. Basically, I think it all depends on what you will use your phone for most of the time. If you are a media whore, a large screen is probably the way to go. But for me.. I do mostly texting and some surfing.. I really don't need a huge screen. |
| I got my 6+ last week and love it! The iPhone 4 and 5 seem absolutely tiny now. I don't think phones can get any bigger as far a screen size go and still be functionable. The 6+ is a happy medium between a phone and tablet! I don't think you will be dissapointed with it if you do get one. |

Holy shit. I've seen it all- someone posted a picture of a RAZR in a phablet thread. Posted from my glorious Note3 Well, he was saying he liked the size of the RAZR. I had one and loved it, too. Now my 5.5" screen phone is my fav. Probably the biggest I'd want to go. If I need a tablet, I'll use my Nexus 9. I think a 5" screen is about optimal for me, personally, but I've gotten used to the slightly larger one I have now. |
| My smart phone screens went from 3.5" to 4.7" to 5.7". I was a little concerned about the jump to the Galaxy Note 3's 5.7" screen. I considered buying a Galaxy S5, but was sold on the Note 3 as the much better work and content consumption device (screen size and S Pen). Now, I love my Note 3 and will never again by a non "phablet". |

I recently went from an iPhone 5 with a 4" screen to a Galaxy Note 4 with a 5.7" screen. My decision came down to the iPhone 6+ and the Note. I'm happy with my decision and I'm sure I would've been happy with the 6+ too.
Since I use my phone for many different functions besides just making calls, the switch has been great for me. And it didn't take long to get acclimated to the (much) larger screen. Now when I hold my iPhone 5, it feels tiny. |

I like my little iphone 4s but I'm not the typical smartphone user.
I'm looking forward to 17 or 21 inch smart phones, not to use myself, just to watch other people with them. Maybe in a few years someone will make 55 inch phone with wheels like carry on luggage. |

I've had the 6+ for a week and am loving it to death. First of all, the battery life is insane. Trying my best to run it down and can't do it.
With my old guy eyes, I needed a bigger form factor to see everything. Web browsing is much easier, I can actually use it to get some work down while waiting during the day. I'm just tickled to death with it. Keep in my front shirt pocket, or suit breast pocket. No problems at all. |

| I fucking love my Note 3. I wasn't sure at first, coming from a a Galaxy Nexus (4.7" screen), but after a few days, I was sold. Still love it, and don't regret the purchase one bit. I sold my Ipad right before getting it and don't miss it one bit. It fits in my pockets fine, and considering I am texting/web surfing/reading manuals/etc on the the thing most of the time, the size is a gigantic advantage. |

Galaxy (not sure about others, I only have Samsungs) has a one handed mode that shrinks the size of the screen so people with small hands can use it. |
