Does anyone know how I can get a hold of a letter "T" button for a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop.
I actually need the little plastic thingy that attaches to the underside of the Key.

You can get a keyboard ( a whole one) pretty cheap if you look around. Maybe easier than looking for that plastic thing.

anyone have a dead laptop I can cannibalize for parts?
edit: I'm wondering if the little plastic key thingy is a standard part that is used on most laptops?
Looks like a tiny scissor jack

Well dell tech support is a waste of time, they want to sell me a whole fuckin replacement key board.
Screw that, I'll just disable a little used button.

twonami, I may have just what you want.  I have a dead 8200 at a branch office that I am visiting tomorrow.  I will post here or IM you with the info when I get a look at the KIA.

Wow, that would help me greatly. Laptop looks like it missing a tooth.
I disabled the windows button. I don't know what it's called since I never use it.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to compose an email that doesn't use the letter 'T'?

Huh?

He dosn't want to carry around a full size keyboard and look like an idiot with a laptop. That is why I said "E-Mail Dell." There is also something called "On Screen Keyboard."

Wow, my sense of humor must be out of kilter tonight. It was  a joke about his not having a T key.
