When they bitch, tell them they don't deserve all that snack and you are just making sure they give their "fair share" to fellow workers. If they're porkers they'll figure it out real quick. |

Do what I do.
Print off lots of official looking but FAKE right wing stuff from the GOP, Heritage Foundation, Koch Brothers.... just do some research. Make it seem wordy and boring, but fill it full of ominous things like keeping tabs on "Known Leftists" in the office, and taking notes on what they say, perhaps implying there might be "more" done about them in the future. Scan through the Daily Kos and DU to get ideas of what kind of "conspiracies" they're afraid of, and go from there. It's mental Judo. Use the momentum of the way their thoughts already go against them. Then leave it around for them to find and wonder who in the office is all in on it. If you've got the guts, you might even suggest the ownership or upper management is part of this. 
Unless it's a young kid I can turn with basic examples of why it's (not) "fair" that so much he worked for be taken from him to support people who won't support themselves, or get him into things like shooting, so he realizes he's now one of the "monsters" that Liberal anti-gunners oppose, I know I'm not going to change some older dyed-in-the-wool Lefty's mind. So I just troll them, and make them as miserable, anxious, and angry as possible.

I know your pain. This election has brought out some of the dumbest shit I have ever heard from co-workers. Our latest hire is a union brainwashed Democrat who constantly bitches about Romney, Republicans, and the fact that we are not unionized. He's racist, but he's voting for Obama because he's a Democrat.  Another employee, also racist and a Democrat apparently, keeps talking about how he wishes Hillary would run. He's not voting for Obama because "he's going to invite all the Muslims over here and let them rule" if he gets another term. He's not voting for Romney because "he's for the rich". Occasionally the two of them get in political debates/discussions. I have to leave the area. I haven't let my political leanings known to them so I know they are not just saying ridiculous shit to try to get a reaction out of me. As I said: some of the dumbest shit I have ever heard. There's no point in arguing debating with some people. |
