user can browse internally, but craps out when trying to go out to internet.
any ideas?

Errors? OS? What ISP? Cable? DSL? Dial-UP? Bulk ethernet?

you are going to have to give a little more info. What does it do? Do you have a proxy server or is it a direct line. What settings for security do you have set for the internet vs the intranet. IE 6.0 sp1 or IE 5.5 sp2 or what?

Is their default gateway configured on their IP stack?
