Hopefully some of you have dabbled with this. I want to make a black forest cake in the shape of a tarantula, so does anyone have tip, books, web site of how to make a cake into a shape other than round and stacked, like they do for fancy weddings where they put sticks in the cake to add support. Thx. |

Most craft stores have great cake making sections and lots of books on cakes and candies. My mom used to make all of our cakes and even made the one for my sisters wedding. They may even have some type of cake molds that might help in this endeavor. My mom used to use this companies stuff they usually have good cake pan molds. http://www.wilton.com/ Hope this helps they also have great step by step instruction books. |

It is very simple. Get some wax paper and draw and cut out the shape of a tarantula. Make a sheet cake, place the wax paper cut out on the top. Use it as a stencil to cut out pieces in the shape of the spider. Reassemble pieces on to a separate plate and decorate accordingly. |
