No, that's not some kind of euphemism.  I've been to this one in Altenburg, MO.  One of the more redneck things I've done, but I had fun.

It would take the participation of the entire audience to produce
one full set of teeth.

I like watching these, and I do have a full set of teeth.

question is? where do they keep these mules?
keep them tied up? lol

friend has a mule if she can see over it she can jump it
especially if she wants out of it.
her eyes are about 7 feet off the ground

I know a guy who trains mules he had a big giant mule who could jump whatever he wanted to
the story gets worse and worse but I do know he cleared a round pen with a rider still in the saddle.
that mule also hated to be in a barn...and got struck by lightning

why people mess with mules I still dont know
they are stubborn and smart they say they can kick you while your on top of them lol

I seem to recall they do mule diving around here.  Mules jumping off high dive boards into the water.  That's until the animal rights groups protested too much.

no joke. mule is ultimate bug out vehicle. smarter than a horse. less likely to founder. more sure footed on mountain trails and they can haul a load. when the apocalypse comes and everyone is stuck in their bugout vehicles on the interstate and the zombies descend from all sides, the folks with mules back up in the woods on the side trails making for their mountain redoubts will be the only folks that survive. and once you get to your hideout, they can pull a plow.

I can't remember if there were any classes, weight or otherwise.  I remember standing in line for a grilled cheese sandwich, and lots of girls in cowboy boots.

if true that is not a good thing. you can tell a horse to do something and it will do it
you have to tell a mule why you need it to do something and then ask it please
and then holler at it to stop because it will keep doing it

When I was a kid old men who couldn't keep up with their coon hounds any more had jumping mules to hunt off of. They jump like that to get over fences. It had been many years since I had even heard of a hunting mule but they are making a comeback. They are the original 4 wheeler. I still have a horn made from a cow horn you blow to call your dogs.

I spent about 15 years around 'mule people'...  I grew up with Quarter horse people.

Horse people and mule people both have their extremes of characters.  I always found the mule people to be more salt of the earth, but, they took the whole "I am a mule owner so I wear overalls and eat with my toes" stereotype a little too far.

they used mule ownership as an excuse for being slobs.

The OP's video being no exception.  It's a competition, dress up people, put on your Sunday clothes and make an impression, ok?

Mules will outperform, out work, out think, out trail any horse, any day of the week.  Take some pride in your appearance, button all the buttons on your overalls and put on a pressed shirt underneath.

I admit it, I have been to a mule jump.  It was actually fun to watch and it made me want to buy a mule to play with.  (Common sense took over though.)

Mules are useful as shit. Great for coon hunting (fence jumping), pulling plow, riding, or breaking bulls and steers to lead.

I'd have a bunch of mules over a single horse. Problem is, without a horse and a donkey on site, it's hard to breed them with any regularity.

I've ridden mules and horses.  The mules seemed much smarter.  Not so greedy about eating everything within reach, either.

I have never had to deal with an ornery mule, and don't think I want  to.

Guys used throw down some pretty decent cash for a jumping mule in Arkansas to hunt off of and pack gear up into the mountains.

Biggest difference between a horse and a mule? A horse will kill itself doing whatever you want. A mule won't do anything that'll hurt itself.

I'd take a mule every day of the week over a horse.
