| My wife has an iPhone 4 (not "S", if that matters). It only plays sound for alerts like phone calls, text messages, watching youtube, etc. The speakers DO work, when go into settings to change the ringtone, it plays the different ringtone sounds. However, it does not do this for text message sounds, sent text/emails, etc. She can plug in headphones and Youtube works fine. Speakerphone also works. It seems like there is a glitch in the iMatrix but I can't seem to figure it out. My solution would be to throw it in the trashcan where it belongs and get an Android, but she likes 'em so whatever. |

Assuming you have sounds set up for each of those functions and the "change with buttons" tab set, perform a hard reset (hold power and home button for 5-10 seconds until screen flashes and Apple logo appears). if that doesn't fix it, make sure there isn't something lodged in the headphone jack.
ETA: if you have an older OS, upgrade to iOS6 stat. |
