I am looking for a new computer and have seen this site around. Anyone know anything about them? The prices are cheaper than Dell when going through building a system so you are getting way more for your money.

I use one. I runs like a bat out of hell but it had some stability issues out of the box....random restarts and such. I had to tinker with it a bit to get it stable so unless you are willing to do that, I might try a different brand.

Good company, also known as cyberpower pc I believe - their ads in gaming magazines look identical and they have the same address out of California IIRC.  They build great gaming machines for very little money and you can have them customize.  Some machines are stock, some allow you to really customine by offering several choices for each option like hard drive, processor, memory, power supply, cooling, etc.

I've owned two cyberpower machines, I prefer them they cost a little more, but come with a 3 year warranty.  I think Ibuypower might be their Volkswagen to Cyberpower's Audi.

Here is cyberpower's website

I bought one from them in 06 and its been great. The only problem I've had with it was the power supply went out on it

Hmmm. Not really wanting to work on it but the reviews I have seen have been pretty good with a few bad ones. You really get a great machine for the price. I don't game but need some of the analytic and video capabilities. I would go apple if they compatible with work units. Anyone else?

Rolling your own is the only way to go.

If you're looking for the best bang for the buck, I would look at Dell refurbished units from www.dell.com/outlet.

They carry a one year warranty and have been looked over in person by a tech.  I've had my XPS laptop at a great price from there for over a year now and have no complaints.

I've been doing IT for 5 years and understand some people aren't interested in rolling their own.  Personally, I don't see myself owning another desktop computer, but I don't game heavily either.  I just want shit that works.

Systemax at TigerDirect is probably a better way to go if you don't want to build your own.

Since you can specify exactly the parts you want this is simply not true.

Anyone else have a recommendation? I am thinking about the alien ware from Dell after looking today.
