need some hardware help here, granted I am not a total tech head but then againi don't know as much as I would like.

I recently installed a Thermaltake water cooling system BigWater 760is , after adding the cooling system (no leaks) the puter turns on but does not display anything on the screen. Usually I hear a beep after it does itsPOST check. I don't even get that currently. help guys. system is an AM2 socket AMD processor on a MSI MB. WD 500G SATA drive. need more dsetails IM me. Actually I can probably get through this a bit faster on the phone.  Drop an IM to my wifes account here (LdyGoth) and She can send my cell number to you.

Here are some of the pics while taking apart to install and some of the actual installation, Everything was put back the same way I had it  to begin with. with the exception that I have disconnected the floppy drive and removed a 320 G drive that had gone bad.

Getting any beep codes while going through POST? Reset the memory. Insure the CPU is full seated. Take it out and check it for bent pins. Reseat it. Unplug any harddrives, floppy drives, and cdroms. Boot it up. Still have the issue? Check the power, reset the power cables. Did you plug in all axillary power cables (4 pin types)?

reseat everything.   try booting with just one stick of memory,  try another powersupply.  if you have tried all this pull the cmos battery (leave computer power unplugged)  leave it for a half an hour.      try it again. after that i'd say your board has bit the dust

Yeah, sounds that way.

Were you playing around with BIOS settings, too? Maybe trying to OC the system?

A friend of mine played around with memory settings lately and ended up with the same symptoms. Resetting the BIOS got him back in business.

Are you sure you installed the new heat sink correctly and used good thermal paste? An AMD will fry itself really quick without proper cooling.

Check the "stupid" stuff. You don't need memory, cards, or drives to test the mobo and CPU. Check that you have your ATX and CPU power connectors plugged in and turn it on. You should get a series of beeps denoting missing memory. A friend of mine recently built a new system and it wouldn't power on. Sure enough, he didn't plug in the CPU power plug. Simple mistake, but it will stop the show.

Currently with the help of a member I was able to get this machine running.  thanks for all the help guys.

Oh btw I guess it turns out that what had been halting the process was my DVD drive, for some reason I am guessing it didnt like the place it was at on the ribbon. that has been solved.
