| Anyone know where to find out what the variety of standard camoflage patterns are for the military. What are your favorites for hunting per season. |

Best all around: standard woodlands Best in the pines: tiger stripe Best in the desert here in AZ: safariflage I'll be getting both MARPATS-woodland and desert-to try. I think the desert will work better than the woodlands. I'm worried that the woodlands will have the same problem as all the "designer" camo patterns (i.e. Mossy Oak, RealTree, etc.) and get dark/solid at a distance. |

Depends on your terrain, the time of year, and if the water is still running. I have three patterns and black. Desert camo in both six color "chocolate chip" and three color. Both work well out in the desert, the three color a tiny bit better in the rocks, and the six color a tiny bit better in the scrub brush. Wearing either and being still a human isn't noticable even at 50 yards. The woodland pattern works in my urban enviornment until the water stops running and then it's desert camo time. I've got four sets of slightly used woodland (work BDU's), and two sets each of the deserts. My wife has a set of fleckar and I think she wants desert next. |
Shuffle through EE Mil Spec Gear once a month or so. You can get NIW BDU shirts in varied designs for $20, usually complete sets available too if you don't mind used/ok. --Edit to fix linky |
