About a month ago I had cellulitis on my knee from a bug bite. Hurt like a bitch, went to the doc, had 2 weeks worth of clarithromycin and was good to go. I also developed hives. I thought nothing of it at the time, figured it was a mild allergic reaction to either the meds or something similar.

Here I sit, with another infection from another bug bite on my ankle. Again, hurts like a bitch, pretty good amount of swelling, the red area is maybe the size of a half dollar. I'll be going in to the Dr tomorrow to get another course of antibiotics since its only gotten worse over the past few days. However, I'm starting to break out in hives again. Are these hives cause for major concern?

Dibs on guns, ammo, and optics are up for grabs. I'm taking the woman with me!

Not a doc but a nurse so I actually may know what I am talking about.
Hives can be a sign of a big deal, what may have been a minor allergic reaction the first time may result in a much worse reaction this time, that said if you are having no breathing problems I would pop some diphenhydromine (benadryl) and bring it up when you see your doc. If you start having difficultly breathing call 911.
