If you are outdoors in the sun for any length of time, bald or not, a hat is advisable. Especially if you are a pasty caucasian.

I'm bald, I bic it because I look like friar Tuck if I don't.

I'm also in my 40's and have been wearing sunscreen and hats since I was a kid. I have friends my age who haven't and their faces look like catcher's mitts.
