The vehicle pics are cool as hell.

Nice!

What is the passenger capacity of that armored vehicle (first picture)?

Thanks for the pics.

Justin

Someone's been watching way too much A Team!

j/k!!
Great pics!

I spend all my time building race cars, I think I may need to make a battle vehicle...

Those headlights on that Blackwater Armored car look awfully familiar. I wonder if that's just a duded up Chevy.

The FN303 "less lethal launcher" can also be rail-mounted.

i think it was three people. a driver and two on each side. i guess you coulda put a guy in back but there was no seat. with all the reinforcing bars, it was CRAMPED! but the seats are real comfy and are covered in molle straps...

Thanks.

I saw info about the top one a little while ago(I'm in the auto industry), then again last week.

It's built on a Ford F250 or F350 chassis....can't remember.
Seating is for four, driver in front center, flanked but two, and one in the rear, in a diamond arrangement.

Looks kinda cool.

Call me crazy, but why not go back to the old half-track design with tank tread on the rear instead of tires that will be blown apart from an IED? They can use rubberized tank treads so as to not tear up the paved roads if they had to. Come up with some sort of run-flat tires for the front?

RPGs & IEDs are what's killing our vehicles in these urban ambushes, no? Is is so hard to design a vehicle to handle a RPG that weighs less than an Abrams tank?

Wow, and I thought I would never see anything dumber than the MP5 with the Glock mount.

That Blackwater-mobile is called a BearCat, based on a Chevy design, being purchased by the US Department of State for operation in high-threat environments.

Band tracks are destroyed by IEDs just like tires, they're the same material: steel-reinforced rubber. And yes, its hard to design a vehicle to withstand the latest and greatest RPGs other than by armor (either normal, slat or reactive).

One concern I have is if those doors can be opened immediately (without the aid of mechanics/hydraulics). I wouldn't want to be in there if the vehicle was on fire (looks like the 4th seat occupant would have a lot of trouble evacuating).

Just my two cents.

Justin

The question is also 'can they be opened upside down?' Most doors like that do not take too kindly to opening when the vehicle's on its top.

Looks like they have a hatch in the center and a gun turrent ring for the back seater. Looks like the driver has the toughest exit of the four.

But you got to admit it's one hell of a vertical grip.
