I've never really gotten into the supplements, but I was visiting my brother this weekend and he let me try out some stuff he had called Jack3d. It tastes like lemon-lime Gatorade which wasn't bad (not chalky at all), but after about 10 minutes, it gave me a weird "pins and needles" feeling that last about 20 minutes. Didn't notice too much gain/explosive power from my weight-lifting routine, but did notice a focused intensity in my cardio. Overall a good workout in my opinion.
I'm thinking about trying out some other supplements and figured I'd ask the hive about what you use for your pre/post workouts. |

I use this whey/creatine mix they have at Wal*Mart. I think the brand is Body Fortress. Cheap, tastes good, mixes well, good enough for me. Only other sups I take are a multivitamin and fish oil. |

Quoted: Caffeine, taurine, and maybe nitric oxide. That's all most WO drinks are. I just take caffeine every once in a while if I'm dragging. Otherwise just whey after workout. Yup...most of the pre-workout stuff is just a huge upper mixed with some shitty fake sugars. Grab a cup of really strong coffee if you need a pick me up and drink down some good carbs/protein after workout (proteinfactory.com is my usual shopping place ;)) |

I used to take that back in high school for football and baseball but never liked it much because it tasted like shit. |

Yeah yeah... I was wondering what that was all about. Started doing some research and it's caused by the beta-alanine in the product. A "normal" reaction from what I read... |

I'm a fan of Isopure if I don't buy something from proteinfactory. check labels...honestly don't usually want Whey Concentrate as the first ingredient...it's cheap, has a low bio value ( you only use about 80-85% of it). Look for Whey Isolates. |

Artificial sweeteners, BA (apparently you don't tolerate it...not unusual), AAKG which..do a search a for Nitric Oxide Scam..., schizindrol a is a central nervous system inhibitor, the 1,3 di is vasoconstrictor.... But if you wanna put that in your body...go for it ;) I'd stick to a quick shot of caffeine and good protein. |

What is your goal? To lose weight? Gain muscle? Gain strength? There is no magic supplement (other than AAS/HGH, steroids), it all boils down to diet and workout. Figure out your daily caloric maintenance and then decide if you want to cut or bulk. If you're one of those skinny guys that have a hard time putting on mass then add 500-1000 calories over your maintenance and do low intensity cardio only(or none if it runs into your allotted caloric excess). If you're overweight then do a 500 calorie deficit and do either HIIT or LISS cardio after lifting. Here's my current routine:
mon: chest/biceps/abs(flat/incline bench, flies, dips| preacher curls, hammer curls, cable curls, reverse curls| hanging leg raises, ab wheel, cable trunk twists, crunches) tues: quads/calves(front squat/back squat, narrow stance leg press, leg extension, lunges| calf raises on leg press, seated leg press, smith machine leg press) wed: back/triceps(Pull-ups, deadlifts, rows, lat pull-downs| Skull crushers, dips, close grip bench press, french press, cable push downs) thurs: off/abs (above) fri: Hamstrings/calves (stiff leg deadlifts, good mornings, leg curls, Bulgarian split squats, reverse hyper extensions, some weighted hip thrusts for glutes) sat: Arms(mix above) sunday: off/abs(above) This is a routine for size. It focuses on opposite muscle groups so you can hit both hard without fatiguing the secondary muscle group. As oppose to hitting chest and then doing a light amount of triceps after(with less intensity due to fatigue from pressing motion). If you wanted to just gain strength and are new the look at Mark Rippitoe's 5x5 program or a 5-3-1 program. Don't depend on supps just maintain a high protein diet and train like a beast. |

Suppliment industry is the biggest sham on the face of the earth. When considering a suppliment, as yourself Is it creatine? Will it get me arrested? If the answer to either is "no" its dogshit. |
