Won't be long before a kid get killed. They should introduce pit bulls to curb the wolf population. |

Won't be long before a kid get killed. They should introduce pit bulls to curb the wolf population. I envision a scenario like the Simpsons episode where they Tree Lizards get loose. |

From ther article: "Other state and military wildlife biologists have said packs may include a dozen or more animals at other times, and Burch said pack allegiances can be fluid." There is such a thing as a "military wildlife biologist"? Hmmmm.......Can we launch wolves from Predator drones? Cause watching Hadji get eaten on IR sounds like good TV to me. |

Wolves didn't exist here in Lower Michigan where I live. For years the DNR said they were coyotes or dogs people were seeing. But the DNR gets pretty busy going out to trap lines releasing them and picking up the carcasses when they get hit by cars. Just like mountain lions don't exist in Michigan.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment successfully placed radio collars on two wolf pups in Cheboygan County in October 2010. The DNRE is able to report there is evidence of an increase in the wolf population in Michigan's Lower Peninsula.
During the Presque Isle annual conservation meeting Thursday evening, DNRE wildlife biologist Jennifer Kleitch said Michigan is now home to 557 wolves, which is a significant increase from the six wolves that lived in the Upper Peninsula in 1973. http://www.thealpenanews.com/page/content.detail/id/515642/Wolf-population-still-growing.html?nav=5004 At Sleeping Bear Dunes, the National Park Service has put up signs warning people about mountain lions, although Johnson's sighting and another by a park volunteer have not been confirmed. "Remain calm," the signs say. "Do not run. Pick up small children."
Michigan state wildlife officials are not convinced that mountain lions have returned to the state. "We've had some fairly credible sightings, but we haven't had a documented kill of a mountain lion in 90 years," says Ray Rustum, supervisor of the state's natural heritage wildlife office. Michigan officials say a blurry photo is yet one more piece of evidence that cougars are back after a centurylong extinction in the state.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment released the photo Monday night. The agency says "although the image is blurred, the photo is consistent with a cougar." http://www.themorningsun.com/articles/2010/06/22/sports/every_season/doc4c1f99fe334ad162964173.txt |

Won't be long before a kid get killed. They should introduce pit bulls to curb the wolf population. Pitbulls would be called "dinner" by a wolfpack. |
