I just bought a Brother HL-2170W wireless printer for my family. I was wondering how safe it is to have multiple computers use the same printer wirelessly.
On one hand, my wireless router currently uses WPA so I think the printer would be secure from outside attacks. But on the other hand, if one of the computers gets a virus, could the virus spread to everyone else through the shared printer? |

If a virus gets into your network, it might be able to spread to any computer that is on the same network, regardless if the printer is there or not...... In other words, the virus would be able to communicate with any computer on the same network directly, it wouldn't need to go through the printer. |
