The windshield on my Tacoma is chipped and cracked in a number of places and I've come to the conclusion that I need to replace it. How much should I expect to pay? Any recommendations on selecting a company to do it? My biggest worry is that the replacement will leak - is that a valid concern with modern replacement? |

Request PPG glass, G2G, most will have warranty. No leaks or wind whistle at highway speeds. Don't DIY unless you know what you're doing. YMMV |
| probably had about 4 windshields on my tacoma now. I use the same type of guy who comes out in a truck and does it 'while you wait' No leaks and it's about 150-250 bucks. I just google or look in the yellow pages, call around and pick the cheapest quote. Old glass out, scrape out windshield channel, install new trim, sealant, then glass. |

You all have the wrong insurance companys if they are not footing the bill. I've had State Farm for over 20 years and I don't pay for winshield replacements. That might be required in your state. I know in Florida, it is state law that all auto insurance carries must cover (for free) windshield replacements. I had a cracked windshield on my Mustang a few years back, went to the dealership, gave them my insurance info, sat around for a few minutes, got my car back, and left. Later in the day I got a phone call from my insurance company asking if I had my windshield replaced (first time I actually talked to my insurance co), said yes, and was done. |
