My windows 8.1 automatically updated yesterday which disabled my right click (at times it would work and then stop) so I upgraded to Windows 10 last night hoping this would resolve the issue with no luck. Is there an easy fix?  Links?

First of all, have you tried another mouse? Second, what antivirus software do you have? Because it doesn't sound like Windows Update caused this.

Sony mouse.  Problem started as soon as I rebooted.

Was it a clean install or a upgrade? Like the previous poster said, you may want to check up on your anti virus and malware protection. If you did a simple upgrade the problem could persist. Could just be a bad mouse as well.

Check the usb device drivers. The 10 update may have very well installed default windows drivers, which may be causing it. Just go on sony's website and download the correct driver.

Hmmm. For a couple of days a single left click would cause a window to max size. I thought it was double tapping. Before I could get out and buy a new mouse things cleared up (I'm on Win 7). Didn't reboot in the meantime.

Had I been you I would have reverted to a previous restore point, since I'm passing on Win10.

It sounds like your mouse is wearing out.
