Works just fine. Have it a few days now, did the online up date, took about 30 minutes.
I admit I was hesitant but am glad I upgraded. That's all, I know nothing to see here, boring stuff. |

| I couldn't get Windows 10 to read an SD card earlier today, so I tried to open Disk Management and failed. I had to go to Services and disable Remote Access Auto Connection Manager and Remote Access Connection Manager. Once Disk Management opened, I had to reassign the drive letter of the SD card to something different. |

Block the Windows 10 trackers using Windows 10!

I've been running 10 since about six months before general release both at home and work.
Now I dread using 7 or 8. They both just seem so dated. Not to mention XP which has the look and feel of a dinosaur OS. People are going to like the RS1 release coming this June. Gets rid of even more Win 8 holdovers and cleans up the UI and start menu. |

| The only problem I had was that I kept clicking on "get upgrade" and it would just stall out. They were just teasing me. A couple days ago I came home and had the notice that it would install in a couple days, but I launched it right away. It took a couple hours to download and install, but it works fine. |

Like you are not tracked already when you browse the web, use a credit or debit card, have a toll pass on your vehicle.. Don't get me wrong I am against big brother just like most are but I don't live my life looking over my shoulder worried about what's next *If* you get bored, you can always turn nearly all of the telemetry off. Here's a great article from a respected mainstream tech rag: ZDNET |

I'd rather go back to Windows ME than use Windows 10 So i assume your hobbies include hitting your own dick with a hammer? Can't be. Anyone using WinME, naturally, can't possess a dick. |

My sons PC upgraded to 10 over the weekend without being told to do so. He played around with it for a few to see if he would like it. He soon realized the sound no longer worked. As his main use involves music, YouTube and games, that wasn't going to work out. So I go in, figuring it just needed the audio drivers updated. Nope. Couldn't even find anything audio installed. Under system restore I found the "Revert to 8.1" button and clicked it. I got a window asking why I wanted to do so, giving several options, one including "My hardware or programs do not work with 10", so I clicked that option.
It then asked if I would first have 10 check for updates or patches to see if it would correct the problem. I clicked yes and 10 searched and found an update listed as XYZ.AUDIOCODEK update or some shit. So I click to download and install it. It hums along for a while and then gives me a window that an error had occurred and 10 would try again later. Tried it again several times, same result. Went back and reverted to 8.1. The sound works, he can play his games and is happy. The End. |

Any one else have problems with "File Explorer" crashing after install?
I did some searching and it turns out that W10 "File Explorer" is incompatible with "Autodesk Inventor"??? Whatever, I uninstalled all the "Autodesk Inventor" stuff (had to re-install license manager) and now "File Explorer" works

It's typically good enough to stream HD movies without issue. The download was just a fraction of that time, the install itself took a surprising amount of time. |

It reminds you over and over that you can upgrade for FREE. Lately, if you haven't upgraded already, it puts the Windows 10 upgrade into the automatic updates queue and you get it whether you want it or not. We're not the only ones this has happened to. |

Now I dread using 7 or 8. They both just seem so dated. Not to mention XP which has the look and feel of a dinosaur OS. Hah! I have all my Windows 7 and 8 machines configured to look and feel like Windows 95! Right down to the "Clouds" wallpaper. (I refuse to "upgrade" to Windows 10.) Some of us oldsters are too set in our ways to bother learning a new OS. The learning curve has a cost of its own. |

I have consistently refused to upgrade to Windows 10. But yesterday morning when I got up and turned on my machine to read the news, I found that MS had installed Windows 10 without my knowledge or consent. I was able to dump it and get my Windows 8 back.....or so I thought. My desktop machine no longer works, and it looks like I'll have to take it in for service, probably costing $100 or so. And you can bet that MS ain't going to reimburse me for the cost of fixing what they fucked up.
God, I hate Microsoft. If I knew how, I'd switch to Firefox or some other system and tell MS to fuck themselves. |
