Are you on the same site as me? Every time there is mention of "Which pistol I should buy" at least half the responses on the first page are going to be Glock. I finger fucked the shit out of a glock and a retention holster tonight, it felt like sex! People hate on glock as being a grenade etc. Furthermore, how does one keep there retention holster from getting outta control. I mean when I strapped on the belt it was hard to get the glock drawn because my setup wanted to cant back when I pushed forawrd on the glock to gen the rention to release. Is this normal? |

I run either a Supertuck or a MTAC, and after they are properly adjusted, I don't have those issues. Sounds like the holster you used needs to be tweaked a bit. Best advice I have. |

Yeah, thats what I figured its a duty belt setup with a safariland. First time I've strapped on setup and held a glock but just thought that was weird or normal? |

A reasonably priced, mid range, mid caliber explosive, and all this hate why? My reason for the post here. I don't think people hate Glocks as much as it appears, I think it's just people like to joke about them. Must be the bad ass on the block everyone likes the poke fun but not really anything serial. Thanks for the post! |

Wherever there are fanatic followers there will be fanatic detractors. The Glock does what it's supposed to reasonably well, and is an extremely good value for it's price. I don't like the way they feel in my hand, and the G21 I did own certainly didn't live up to the idea of "Glock perfection." |

Did you have keepers holding the duty belt to your inner belt? Shouldn't move if you do. As far as the Glock hate, I think it is because the Glock fans swear it is the ONLY firearm worth owning. Those of us that have seen the light and are open minded to other manufacturers know better. |

Quoted: If you like the way that one felt, try a Gen. 2 on for size. In the 19 and 23 size guns, the finger grooves are in just the wrong spot for my hands. My old Gen. 2 G-19 feels like it was made for me though.I don't hate, but they're fun to poke fun at. Here's the one I want. One of the most comfortable guns in my hand: http://sio.jameswlanning.com/images/19.gif |

I think one of my are fun stores might have a Gen 2. I'll have to see if it's still there. I was surprised. I've handled the G26 and G17 before and I wasn't as impressed with those as I was with this one. |

It was a fam member Im not a leo but just curious. and I can pick up a brand new glock with night sights for 450 through HMS, discount so its a pretty good deal |

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: A reasonably priced, mid range, mid caliber explosive, and all this hate why? My reason for the post here. Because at ARFCOM, even the most slack-jawed, mentally retarded fuckwit 13-year-olds can't be denied their "right to free speech" with the endlessly unfunny fucking "GLOCK GERNADE!" jokes, even though the mods can make the expression of a sound of a flashlight hitting a man's head "ztrictly verbodden." |

Quoted: A reasonably priced, mid range, mid caliber firearm, and all this hate why? I don't hate the Glock. I find them to be uncomfortable–– like holding a misshapen rock––but otherwise a very boring pistol. Now some Glock owners, that is a different story. You know what; Glock is a well made, decent pistol. That is all. They are not more reliable that other well made decent pistols, and they are not the end result of some sublime pistol evolution. Due to some Glock owners rabid love for the pistol; I do enjoy taking the 1911 position and then do a bit of poking with sharpened sticks (what can I say, I'm an asshole ).Oh, and the unsupported case on the Glock fortay, does make it more prone to grenade like detonations (due to bad ammo of course!!). Actually, I find the XD to be much more comfortable and easy to shoot (who at Glock has those tiny elven like fingers they used to make the grooves on the grip?). |

A reasonably priced, mid range, mid caliber firearm, and all this hate why? I like my 1911s I also like my Glock Damn, a reasonable man. I know you're reasonable because your opinion is the same as mine. OK seriously, the reason for the Glock hate is that, as a mod said recently, GD is powered by hate. And it helps that there are a bunch of ready made Glock jokes that can be endlessly repeated by those here to stupid and/or lazy to think up their own. Jane |
| Why? For the same reasons that there is 1911 hate. A lack of confidence in their own personal choice and self justification. Many people dont want to accept that there may be other options out there, that are equal to or maybe in some cases better than, they're own personal choice. By trying to find things wrong with other choices, it helps them feel better about their own choice. Now, there are crap choices out there, but, generally, thats not the case with these discussions. |

poor ergonomics, ugly as sin, deserved reputation for spontaneous disassembly..... etc..
glock is an OK handgun, it's not the end all be all many wish it was. glock simply has better marketing and people tend to stick their heads in the sand and ignore the recalls glock puts out. |

I have owned nearly every brand and model of pistol out there from a custom 1911 (Novak) to a plethora of Sigs and HK's. I always end up with a G19 though, I finally sold the rest and now soley own Glocks. |

To be sure, I think there is a lot of hype with any brand in many cases. I also know that one can be soured on a brand/model if they have had first hand/repeat issues with it, and that is a valid reason to not want/like that brand/model. I can honestly say that, every Sig, H&K, Springfield, Kimber, and Glock I have owned, have had no issues other than the limiting vice's of their operator. The only handgun I have had issues with, was my very first one 18+ years ago...and that was a .40 Taurus. |
|
Meh, I carry two at work (issued G22 and personal G27 backup). I also own a G21. Great pistols but IMHO not the best. Springfield XD, Springfield 1911, H&K USP, Walther, and Colt are my other brand pistols. I have never had a KB on any Glock I own / use.
To each his own, ignore the hate. |
