This makes me want to punch a kitten. What could you POSSIBLY gain by cutting a G17L down like this? It's a damn race gun with a 6inch barrel. Nothing you do will make it conceal easier.

I mean damn, if you're gonna do something like that, at least do it to a normal G17 and not a model they only produce once every 5 years.

The hardest part of concealing an auto is the length of the butt.

You get the benefit of a G26, and the sight radius which is great for accuracy.

I'd never do it... but the concept makes sense!

Unless the guy did it to your gun, let it go.

That's G19 length. And I CCW a G34 (5.31" bbl) every now and then, the grip isn't the hard part to conceal, it's the fact that it looks like I have a quarter stick of butter in my pants.

Oh c'mon, it's a freaking Glock.  It's not like we're looking at a collectible with history.  You know, like a Mosin.

I cut a 17 to a 19's grip length.

Get the best of both worlds.

However I would not do that to a 34 or a 17L myself.

Perhaps he had a metric shit-ton of G19 mags and did not want to buy more G17 mags?

Edited to correct speling error.

I do not know what makes you think it is my gun.

I am a retired firearms instructor / rangemaster... and I have dealt with hundreds of LEO as such and have seen countless ways to CC.  That is one of them, not common... but the concept is far from new.

It does screw up any resale on the piece, much like the "custom" soldering iron abortions!

The problem with a gun that long, is sitting down. The muzzle jams into the seat and pushes up on your belt. I'm 6' and I can CCW a G35 but it's on the verge of being too long. I've not tried it, but I think a G17L or a G24 would be too long unless you're tall or high waisted.

I'd take the lower to use on my 9mm CCU as I have a couple dozen more G19 mags  than 17s.

I like the 19 grip much better than full sized versions but wouldn't have done that and obviously haven't to the 22 frame I use on the CCU

Throw that thing in a nose down shoulder holster and it would disappear under a light dress shirt.. Was thinking of doing something similar with my G22. Or pick up a well used one to do it to.
