For those who are divorced, have been divorced or are going through a divorce. Did cheating/adultery play a part? poll coming |
Sounds like you were married to my ex. |
Stop holding it in and tell us how you really feel . . . |
|
It was the late seventies, we were both in college. She got pregnant and I quit school my senior year to go to a factory job so we'd have insurance. When she graduated, she divorced me, stating she couldn't be married to a 'factory worker'. Bitch. But no, no cheating involved. |
My X bought her boyfriend a new Suburban and 16' bass boat with motor from the savings account the week before she moved out & filed for divorce. It's been twenty years and she is still scared. As the line from Blade Runner, "Quite an experience to live in fear isn't it... That's what it is to be a slave." wganz ¶ |
Marriage is a wonderful thing. It is the furthest thing from my mind to discourage anyone from getting married. I absolutely loved it. I thought that I had the perfect wife. sigh Choose wisely. And get a prenup. Unless, of course, she makes more than you do! |
My wife did. She announced her marriage plans to my son & I 4 or 5 days after our divorce was finalized. To the person who she didn't leave me for, & was not involved with the 9 months since she left.![]() I had the opertunity to cheat several time or with several women during out 14 yr marriage, but wouldn't give into the temptation for a cheap thrill. It just wasn't worth it, & I can still hold my head high knowing I did my best to honor my marriage vows. Even if I wasn't perfect.

Because its rather silly to expect a hormone-ladden 18 year old just off to college to maintain a long distance relationship in that environment. |
| My ex cheated for 5 years before I gave up and called it quits. He thought things were perfect and couldn't understand why I wanted out. He became violent after I told him I was divorcing him. So he cheated and he hit me. I sometimes wish he would die a slow painful death. The better side of me has forgiven him though and we are friends now. |
Officer and Gentleman syndrome? |
Sounds like a friend of mine, she cheated, showed up in court without a lawyer, he got the house, suv, savings plan, no alimony, she has to pay him child support (she is now about 10 grand behind) and he got full custody, though in Tennessee she still gets her time. We are just waiting for the day at work he gets the call shes been picked up for failure to pay child support, cant wait

Ex did, with her best friends husband, divorced me married him, f-ed around on him got redivorced, married the new guy [he was married at the time] and is now reredivorced, see a pattern here? I have full custody and have been remarried 10 years as of last friday. She has punished herself more then I ever could. If you gotta ask yourself will she mess around [or him] the walk down the aisle should never happen. |

My X-wife started going out with her friends, which is fine and dandy, until she started screwing the local minor league baseball team. We got divorced because we weren't getting along. I found out she was cheating after all was said and done. I am re-married now to a great woman and we have a 2 year old boy and his brother is on the way. The divorce was the best thing that could of happened. |
