So the Zero admin has created an immigration crisis and it's targeting Texas, where is Perry?
Levin had a caller last week that asked this same question. Texas is one if not the only state where the governor can deploy the national guard at will, why hasn't he done it? He comes out at CPAC like some cowboy but where the hell is he? Where the hell is Ted Cruz for that matter? IB4 why the hell does a Californian care. |

The problem is there is no reason to deploy any assets. The states have been outlawed from participating in apprehending illegals. So what are they supposed to do if they spot illegals? Legally speaking, they can't apprehend.
Those border states are going to have tell the President and SCOTUS to fuck off and secure the border themselves. Dare the faces to try and prevent it. |

I'm waiting for Texas to freak the hell out over this. I think the details are slowly percolating and people are getting pissed. First they hit us with a federal injunction on voter ID. Then tell us we can't enforce immigration. Then refuse to enforce immigration. They want the state blue. This shit all started because of the "Dream Act". Parents in central America heard that kids were getting citizenship. Their life sucks. Send the kids north. Once again local folks have to deal with shit that started at the federal level. Perry is good at playing cowboy but this will really test his grit. He's done after this term anyway. Why not stand up and fight? |
Operation Borderstar is ongoing and so is Operation Drawbridge. Use of Texas Parks & Wildlife game wardens to help along the border is still going on. Look, I'm not saying this state is doing it's absolute best to deter illegal immigration nor am I saying that Slick Rick and other state politicians don't have their own agenda, but at least they're doing more than what DC is. Truthfully, I think Slick Rick, and possibly Abbott, want to keep what we already have and be in control of anything else that trickles in. This whole mass flood isn't what they want. |

| I have long suspected that a Constitutional crisis would come from the states refusing to follow the DoJ or the Supreme Court regarding the voting rights act. Some of the decisions on things like voter ID are getting close to laughable and at some point I have expected a state like TX, GA, or AL to tell the federal government no - no we will not follow your administrative rules and we do not recognize court rulings on the matter, now leave us alone to conduct our affairs as we see fit. Now protecting the States from invasion - something the Constitution REQUIRES the federal government to do - seems like the most likely thing to prompt this split. If the state government's had any fortitude they would tell the federal government that they will stop the invasion themselves up to and including using force against federal agents attempting to stop them or attempting to traffic illegal aliens into their state. |
