Great book about four men from Indiana and their Indian guide who encounter an evil spirit while hunting the Canadian wilderness. A millionaire CEO purchases 2000 acres of land surrounding Lake Chalako over the internet, site unseen. He flies himself and three hand picked subordinates up for a week of corporate games, a series of "testing-of-the-wills" challenges. After leaving their base camp led by an Indian tracker named "Davejac" and his two Elkhounds, they all become the hunted trying to escape and evade the "Windigo", an old mythical spirit from Indian folklore. Only two will come out of the woods. This is a great book! The author wrote five novels that each won awards and then he suddenly quit writing. The books are no longer in print but you can find them on ebay and other sites. If you've ever walked into your deer stand before sunup and had the feeling you weren't alone you'll like this story.
