We've had MSN for some time but are changing providers and was wondering which email program works best.
The ISP we're getting uses outlook and I hate it.  I have heard of the mozilla stuff, it any good ?
My most used and liked email service is Gmail or Yahoo.  Can either of those be used by the mozilla program and how would you set it up ?

I use Mozilla Thunderbird for my domain email. I think you can setup gmail in it as well. You can use Yahoo mail in Thunderbird if you are a paid account with yahoo.

I use Yahoo for email, my internet connection is WildBlue and I use FireFox for my browser. Works great.

Gmail on Opera. I've tried using Thunderbird and Opera's M2, and haven't got them to work, so I'm sticking with using the browser.

How is Thunderdird compared to Outlook Express?

Whatever you decide, make sure you download that wonderful AOL wav file "You've Got Mail".  No e-mail program is complete without it.

Gmail.  Started using it not too long after it came out.  Flawless.

I've lost too much data in the past using a mail client (usually Outlook) when my machines or servers took a dump.

My Gmail account is up to 2735 MB of storage so no space worries and I'm not concerned about Google folding up and disappearing in the middle of the night.  Spam filtering is also good, very, very little makes it to my inbox.

YOu can use whatever you want... Well, with OE you can, not sure of other programs... In control panel goto sounds, then the sound tab, scroll down to "new mail notification", cnahge it to what you want.

You would have to set up an client like T-BIRd or OE to check the gmail account, then set the sound file... General Gmail wont cause its a website.

Download Google Talk and it has a desktop notification as well as a sound notification.
