https://www.ncgvr.org Someone threw out some study at me they've done that from the sounds of it rehashes the anti-gun arguments and flawed methodology of the old study that claimed that guns in the home are more dangerous to the residents They're claiming to be "non-partisan" but to me that doesn't mean they're neutral It just means that they'll take money from Bloomberg as quickly as they'd take it from Soros. They're definitely trying the " guns are a public health problem" argument I cant seem to find a lot about them on-line. Are they just one of the old anti-gun groups flying a new banner? |

Follow the money. From their own web site: The National Collaborative on Gun Violence Research is funded through philanthropic donations. The collaborative was seeded with a $20 million gift from Arnold Ventures. Additional major donors include Wells Fargo, Missouri Foundation for Health, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, and Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation. We aim to secure further funding to support research on gun violence and gun policy. First, they don't appear to have filed a 503(c) or 527, so they don't appear to be a non-profit themselves and I can't find anything further. Arnold Ventures appears to be their primary funding source. Looks like a couple of wealthy democrats initially but... Arnold has filed form 990 ANI and a Form 990-PF that show massive amounts of funds coming in -- $152M in contributions just in 2024, plus $123M in dividend income, and $125M in other income -- so half a billion dollars somes in and total assets are over $4B. They spend $18M on operating expenses, and then sent out $193M in donations to other groups. Looks like they're either a money aggregator for the left or they're doing the usual wash/rinse/repeat for donors to hide primary sourcing. If you read on the form PF shows who and where they donated money to, searching on the word "gun" turns up lots of spending on the RAND corporation and to universities. |

The guy who's throwing this group at me says they've had some anti-gun study that he agrees with but if there's a study it's not posted to their site and I cant find anything on a google search. |

| Under President Carter, a study was authorized to answer the problems of gun violence, ownership, etc fairly factually once and for all. It was done. It did not say what those anti-gunners thought it was going to say so it was quietly put on the shelf never to be mentioned again. |

I subscribed to their e-mail, so we'll see. Everytown/Brady/Bloomberg has their new "facts" group that's supposed to "prove" their propaganda. I wonder if this is related. I received over 50 email pleas for donations that would be matched up by as much as 5X before New Years day from these groups in a four day span. They had a cosmic failure in raising the money they were looking for. They are desperate for money and have been since the USAID tap was cut off. | Another one… that just won’t tell the truth about gun violence. It’s not “us”, legal gun owners. The problem is gangs, the younger generation that shoot for any reason, illegal guns, stolen guns etc. Liberal policies, Soros DA’s, no bail, no jail and no consequences only make it worse. But that would be racist to address. Bottom line is they don’t want private gun ownership. |
