I never noticed there was an off-roading section here, doesn’t look very active but oh well. This is my gen1 raptor. It’s fully caged with Jettrim seats. SVC Offroad long travel in front and SVC’s DD 4link in back with 18” and 21” of wheel travel respectively. King shock package of 2.5x10” coilovers, 4.0x10” bypass shocks and 2.5” bump stops in front. 2.5x16” coilovers, 4.0x18” bypass shocks and 2.5” bumps in the rear. SVC fabricated axle housing and EWR 10” third member with 5.14 gears. Innov8 17” G700 beadlock wheels with 40 inch BFG Baja KR3’s. ADV 4.5+ bulge fiberglass fenders and bedsides. That should be most of the big modifications, plenty of other little odds and ends.  SVC Offroad built gen 1 Raptor |

A project is born. Wife and I were talking about picking up an extra vehicle now that the kids are out of the house. I had my heart set on a 4runner but never found a decent deal on an older one. Well, after tearing the running boards off of my new truck off-roading this summer I found this 2013 with low (relatively) miles and a decent price.

No rig right now for me, but our group currently has 3 hunting rigs and a fourth that another buddy bought that we are fixing a bunch of shit on to make it reliable enough to go along... The 3 current rigs are 2 fords and 1 old chevy, all run 44" boggers our tire of choice on 1 ton axles..big enough to get thru about anything you will need to going where we go..This pic is from hunt camp a few years back, about 50 miles from the road system... Attached File This is the new addition, not a fan of the bigger tractor tires/2.5 ton top loaders..just becomes a pain to deal with weight and size wise, especially when trailering them on the roads.. But the guy got it for a steal, even with the stuff we are fixing and if he decides he wants to keep going we can work this into a doable rig or he can sell and get his money back and we can build him a better rig...for now it can work good enough for getting in/out and most areas, we will keep it out of the worse shit we get into because its not setup to handle such things as steep sidehills and such... Attached File We are fixing the worse parts of it, the horrible gas tank they made for it, and putting a decent bed on it...lengthening it back out to hold a 7 foot flat bed from the just over 5 foot it currently has...I'll have to get some pics of it ... |

Wow, I don't know how I missed this subforum. Here's my latest Jeep, a 2023 Gladiator Mojave. I sold my TJ Rubicon (which I still kind of regret) because we had too many vehicles. So far I love it. I'm actually going out this weekend with my buddy to play with OnX some and find some new trails. Hopefully all of the ice is melted. Here it is the day I got it and next to my TJ. Attached File Attached File So far I've done a few minor mods. I installed a GMRS radio and some of the Apex AutoLynx swaybar quick disconnects. Over Christmas I picked up a Badlands winch on sale so I need to get a new front bumper. |

For those interested, been making slow progress on the 4th buggy, we extended the cut off frame about 2 foot to give it a more usable bed, they had shortened the wheelbase in order to help it turn better on the big tires, normally they run steering axles at both ends, but these guys didn't want to spend the money for the rear steer or beefed up axles to live in the rear needed for a rear steer axle..fuel system is almost complete, new tank with a sump so it keeps fuel around the pumps, yes it has 2 pumps, one runs the engine the other is incase he needs to siphon fuel(often done to fuel wheelers/sideby sides when they are brought along), also a simple hose swap and you have a fresh pump if the engine pump dies....So fuel pump hanger has 2 pumps on it, separate sender for the fuel gauge and the blue check valve is the vent line which will run up one side of the headache rack and down the other for tip over protection... I need to finish the steel vent lines on the headache rack which I will do when we pull the bed for final welding... Jeepster Commandos and Jeep Commandos were made from '67 to '73. They were kind of a precursor to the Wagoneers and Cherokees at the start of the SUV trend. You can tell by the slanted rear end. The front end of the '72 and '73 was changed to be more like a Scout or Bronco because that is what they wwere competing against. They only made this "bullnose" body style for a couple years before AMC discontinued it. The earlier Jeepsters had the more traditional jeep grill. I get the strangest looks and misunderstood guesses as to what it really is. I dig it because I don't get ducks on my dash! |
