Interesting that you mention chat. I think because of how old that software is and how things are moving these days, we probably will retire chat when the old hosting shuts down. (IE soon.) We will most likely be working on an integrated chat to make it easier to merge with the site (join, recognize people, not steal names, etc), manage it (account required for chat, ban from chat, create rooms, etc), and host it. If we have an integrated web based chat, we probably would see a larger number of folks join it and hang out, especially in the evenings. I can't give an ETA for it, but it's moved up the priority list since we are considering killing the old chat server.
