"It's completely unclear from your website what you are trying to accomplish."
"I am afraid the whole thing is completely unintelligable. It appears that your are trying to work around "assualt weapon" feature restrictions. I suspect the Legos are doing you no favors. I suggest (as a web design person) that you write up some sort of succinct mission statement about your goals and then tie each of your "efforts" to that statement somehow. Otherwise that sight is going to get very low traffic and some potentially good info might be missed." I realize folks are going to comment on what we're trying to do, but the comments I'm really interested in are those that comment on the usability and ease of use of this website. The comments above came from another gun forum after I posted the following link: http://www.feinsteinproject.org/loes/effortcalifornia/effortCalifornia.html If you're already familiar w/ what we're doing, please don't post in this thread - I want comments from folks who have never seen our site before. I realize that many folks will have various opinions of what we're doing, but in this thread, I request that you comment on whether the website is easy or hard to navigate, and if it informs you as to what we're trying to do. For the mods - we are not a profit-seeking or making organization. I'm just concerned from the quotes above that perhaps I have designed our website poorly. |

Yeesh man. Thats rough. That's like 1995 right there.
You need to have a basic layout - with a header, navigation on the left, content on the right, and a footer. That is the basic layout of most websites. Investing in something like Dreamweaver would be a big help. There are sites out there that basically let you build a custom site with ease, such as wordpress and wix. (as a professional web designer, I hate suggesting wix - but its a good tool for something like this.) That is where I would start. Your site is small so redoing it and setting it up for expansion shouldn't be too hard. |

Looks like you're working on ways to counter the latest BS Cali has passed. I'm not a design guy so I honestly can't tell you how to fix it, but it does have that "slapped together" feel, IMO. Hopefully someone who actually designs websites will come along and be more helpful. Sorry I can't be, but I don't know what to tell you to work on specifically to fix it. |

Thanks for the advice. So links everywhere are bad? Read Mister44's post. You need a defined layout for people to easily understand, if they get confused as soon as they look at it then their next action is likely the little X in the upper-right or the left-facing arrow in the upper-left. |
| You need a simple plug and play wordpress installation. It'll give you WAY more readability, better registration with search engines, and a much better way of managing content than just banging out raw HTML. What you have now is essentially unusable by modern standards. |
