If is wasn't for Walmart thousands of small towns would have nowhere to buy food, drugs or essentials.

If it wasn't for Walmart tens of thousands of American jobs wouldn't exist. Good, safe, secure jobs.
Truck drivers, factory workers, manufacturing, warehouse and the hundreds of jobs in each
Walmart store.

Walmart pays taxes.

Walmart arrives in a town it's put on the map! Others follow. Jobs. Opportunities. Pride.

Walmart's low prices keep a lot of small town families clothed and fed.

I don't care about China. I'm an American. I care about Americans. In America Walmart rocks!

Massive FAIL.

Mom and pop stores weren't "driven" out of business - they just couldn't compete. Plain and simple. If these small stores provided the selection and prices that Wal Mart does, they'd still be around. There's no evil trickery involved here.

And before you whine even more, think of the BILLIONS - that's pop gas station too, or do you buy your gas at the cheapst place you can find?

they also dont pay a living wage, give benefits, or support their own workers. i dont know about other locals but our wally world only hires peopleon assistance because the company gets tax breaks for it. not because they are trying to help people. they also bully manufactures into making lesser quality goods to meet walleys low standard by telling them they wont carry their product unless they meet walleys buying price. and when the consumer complaints come rolling in, they blame the manufacturer. and the most obvious sin, they dont keep Americans working. they just do business with whomever is cheapest to increase thier profit margin.  walmart...always corperate greed...always.

When did you shop in a Mom & Pop store last? High prices and very small selection. That sound like a good thing to you?
The good ol' days of Andy in Mayberry are long gone. I like small bookstores. Walmart has nearly no books, so no compitition there. You see any Mom & Pop bookstores? Me neither. The friendly shop keeper is dead. This is the 21st Century, not the 1950's. Without Walmart a whole lot of AMERICANS would be screwed sideways. I think a lot of anti-Walmart folks fail to grasp that fact.

I concur.  Anyone else concur?  Hope so.  This is spot on.  Way back in time, we used horse drawn carriages and lamps with oil.  Not so much anymore.  New products come to market and new processes are implemented.  It's called advancement.

You are not very well versed in economics or common sense.  No one FORCES vendors to suppy walmart, do they?  Last time I checked walmart was fully stocked with products.  How about the employees?  HMMM?  No one holds a gun to their head do they?  HMMMMMM?  Can they work elsewhere??  HMMMM?  I had a friend that worked there. He was tired of the wage he was earning.  he didn't file a lawsuit. He went to medical school and now practices.   DUH!!!!

And who gives them a tax break, hmmmm?  The locality doesn't have to do that, do they?  HMMMM?  Oh, walmart is so terrible.  I hate getting products for such a low price!!! And those poor employees!!!! They are chained to their stations.  AAAAHHHHHHH.  BTW, I read a pretty extensive study concerning the value that Walmart has added, economically speaking.  It was cost benefit type analysis.  Believe it or not, walmart has provided quite a bit of value.   I could go on and on, but you probably wouldn't get it.

I don't care for Wal-Mart because it's too big, too busy, and there's too many ugly and fat people there.

But the more convenient grocer is more expensive and doesn't carry a few of my staple food items at all. So I shop at Wal-Mart and buy my gas, snuff, cheese, and bacon at Sams.

and their factory/manuf jobs to go overseas. Thinking that the majority gives any thought to where their money goes is being way to generous. I go out of my way to support local/regional stores, some that are third generation family owned, because I look beyond the cashier taking my money.

Well, in the ole days, and I'm not that old, we knew the store owner and if you needed something, he'd open up or hell, even bring it to you.  You asked a question about something, you got an answer and not just the blank stare of the 16 year old behind the counter.

And drive other companies out of business, or oversees, eliminating higher paying jobs.  Those employees that were making $15/hour now make minimum wage at Walmart.

Who needs to post VERIFIED sources that Wally World employees don't have benefits.

I'm waiting. 'Cause I know it will take quite a while. Wally World considers ALL employees who work at least 28 hours a week as FULL TIME employees. Know why? Because that way the little old retired guy working the door a few shifts a week can get health insurance and other BENEFITS as a full time employee.

1) Do you own a business?

2) Do you pay wages/benefits/workman's comp/taxes/etc like a business does?

3) Do you sell something you manufacture for below cost?

4) Do you buy products that are sub-par in quality?

5) Do you care about how much money your job pays you? If you do, are YOU greedy? Have you told your employer to keep part of your paycheck so as not to be greedy?

6) Would you continue working for an employer that is paying you less than you think your work is worth?

7) Do you give all of your money away so people won't call YOU greedy?

8) How much money should YOU be allowed to keep from YOUR paycheck? Who makes that decision?

9) Is there someone making less money than you that might think YOU are being paid too much and should that person have power to determine YOUR pay?

I seem to remember a time when Wal-Mart touted itself as a patriotic chain that went out of its way to find and sell good made in America. I remember American flags being displayed all over the place in each store and big signs on every display of "Made in USA" goods.
