I stopped at WalMart today and picked up two boxes of .243 ammo. When I got to the checkout she scanned them and then said "This is for hunting, right?" Somewhat taken aback, I said, "Naw, it's just for decoration". The guy behind me laughed and said. "Go on. Tell her it's to rob a bank". She got huffy and said, "We have to ask that now. We can refuse to sell it to you". I just rolled my eyes and said, "What's my total". She said $28.64. I hand her 30 bucks, got my change and left. So WTF? Why would they ask that ? |

If you guys want to have fun call the walmart HQ and raise a bitch about not letting people take the electri scooters out of the store. was at my walmart one day and they made a 93 year old lady get up out of the scooter and walk all the way to her car they got very abusive to her and her grand daughter yelling about safty concerns and that those carts arnt designed to be taken out side. those carts are the same kind they sell to people that use them outside. the safty concern is they dont want people to get hurt in the parking lot needless to say the lady almost fell in the store but someguy caught her before she fell. all stores are going that way. |
| This is not coporate policy, I don't know where these idiots come up with this shit. It was either a dumbass cashier making shit up, or a dumbass manager that thinks they are.....well I don't know what in the hell they were thinking. But I can assure you that this is not compnay policy. Call the store manager and tell them about your concerns, or call 1-800-walmart and make a complaint about the cashier to the home office. The cashiers ID# and store number will be on your receipt, so they can make sure they lay the smack down on the right dumbass cashier!! |
The reason they aren't letting people take them outside anymore, from what I understand, is that they are being trashed by being left out in the rain/weather, and the pavement tears up their wheels. I agree that the people that need them should be able to take them out to their car, but that person was healthy enough to walk INTO the store, why aren't they healthy enough to walk out of the store? If a person really needs one of those carts that bad, then maybe they should buy their own. |
That is because of kids using glues to get high. |
ARE YOU SERIOUS? |
Yes, It started with Model glues, Now thanks to age limits on model glues everything minus wood glue, and elmers school type glues are restricted by age. |
Somehow, I rather doubt there's much huffing of superglue.... ....but it sure would be funny! ![]() CJ |
while huffing paint is still more popular, there are many people that huff super glue. the problem is when they put the super glue into a sandwich baggy and huff from the bag, occasionally they will huff too hard and the plastic will glue itself to their face. they then suffocate trying to get the plastic bag off of their face. |
I worked for Walmart for 13 years and I lovingly call them Commie bastards. It's another sign that businesses don't care about training their employees to give good customer service. They would rather program their cash registers so they can spend less time and money on training. The various states(maybe even the feds?) started asking Walmart and other big chains to card kids because of "huffing", now you have to be 18 to buy super glue, spraypaint, paint thinner, nail polish remover, everything inhalable. Walmart has the registers programmed so the cashier would remember to card the customer for ammo, or ask them if it's for a rifle or pistol. It was stupid to specify the purpose of the ammo, all we had to ask was if it was for a handgun or rifle so the register would know to ask if the customer was 18 or 21.. Large retailers were asked by the MS state narcotics division to limit the quantities of cold medicines because they were finding cases of them and large quantities of them at meth labs. They check the age of a customer for "R" rated movies, I'm sure they'll start on "M" rated computer games soon if they're not already doing it. They have cigarette and alcohol sales in the registers, also. Some of this is important for them so they won't get fined or the cashier arrested. For a while, in MS the state wanted stores and gun dealers to collect names, SS#'s or DL#'s,and addresses of people buying ammo. ALL the gun dealers in the state agreed that no dealer was going to collect the info for the state, Walmart(and maybe Kmart) were the only stores that collected this info. The state finally realized it was a waste of everyone's time to keep process all those reams of records. (The following is pertinent for dry areas only) I think a better use of that technology would be to warn the cashier when they scan alcohol when it's dry. It's illegal here(Tupelo,MS) to sell alcohol between midnight and 7am and on Sundays. MS ABC men used to hit us all the time(Alcohol,Beer,Cigarettes), lots of people got in trouble for being stupid and forgetting it was Sunday. |
Were there is a board kid there is a way. |
They get high off this stuff. We call them "huffers". Basically these chemicals interfere with the flow of Oxygen to the brain. I don't have a clue as to why someone would think a lack of O2 to the brain woube be a good thing |
They do the same thing when I buy a case of 9mm. I tell them it's not for a pistol, it's for an SMG. ![]() |
Tell them It's for your machine gun! ![]() Vulcan94 |
We never did that at the Walmart stores I worked at. People take them to their cars all the time here with no one fussing about it. I think there are too many managers that think they are the final word on customer service, I worked with a few... Of course if the lady was so fragile, how did she make it to the store? She's also lucky that she got one that worked. They are really P'sOS. The employees were also full of crap, they were more worried about their cart getting damaged instead of the lady. I got tired of their "new math." They started relying on the "Work smarter, not harder." principal. So we had to be really smart to cover 4 departments with 1 or 2 people instead of 6 like it should be. All those registers are really for Christmas and they are running them all maybe for a few hours a year. It's ridiculous, but it's not just Walmart. Joe Pesci was right, they do fuck you at the drive through, every time. And not just at the drive through any more. |

Several weeks ago my 24 year old daughter was, "carded", for her age ,at Wallyworld. She was buying SUPER GLUE ! It came up on the clerks computer that way. You must be 18 to buy glue and they must check age. Socialistic correct bastards. Unreal. TT Yes, this is due to state laws. Some states ban minors from buying airbrush propellant, and a myriad of other products because of kids huffing. You can sell a kid a model, but not the glue to assemble it. So, Wallyworld expands that to all glue. Some states minors can't buy spray paint due to anti grafitti laws. |
|
That's crazy! Superglue doesn't have any fumes. The easy solution, of course, is to use the self-checkout. I've got spraypaint, varnish, superglue, you name it home that way (no, I don't huff). The funny thing is, the receipt-checker sees I'm buying the verboten product, and I look underage, but they either don't put 2 and 2 together or they just don't care. |
Not true! At Target they will assign a cart attendant to walk along side the cart all the way to the car and then return it to the store. This is also the policy at Publix. |
all walmart stores are going that way i should have worded it better |
I am going to go by a box of ammo tomorrow just to see what I get asked. IF theya sk I am going to say I am afraid of rampaging Kerry supporters that have been threatening to riot. |
Stupid little brain-damaged fuckers. |

My last ammo purchase at wally world: Me:"And I'd like 3 boxes of the CCI mini mags" Checkout Clerk:"will that be all?" Me: yep CC: ID? Me: Here CC Sir, I cant sell you this ammo. Me: Why? CC: Because you aren't 21 Me: Why do I need to be 21 to buy .22 ammo? CC: because it is handgun ammo. Me: Huh? CC: You need to be 21 to buy handgun ammo Me: I dont own a handgun. I shoot this in my Rifle CC: But it could be used in a handgun Me: I have the rifle in my trunk. I'm going shooting this afternoon. CC: But it can be used in a handgun Me: It is for my rifle CC: I am sorry sir, but it is company policy. Me: Fine, let me have 3 more boxes of the Q3131A . . . . Apparently I can be trusted to buy 180 rds of .223, but I can't be trusted with .22LR Mini Mags. . . |
