I click on a post and it opens in a new tab.  WTF?

I click on one of the bookmarks I have pinned to the browser and it opens it.  In another tab.

Fine, check the settings, change a few things try again.

Still opens posts and book marks in new tabs.

Shut down Firefox and reopen.

Same issue.  FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

So before I delete Firefox and switch to another browser, anyone else have this problem?  If so, how did you fix it?

Yeah CSB and all that shit.

It just updated today for me, that may be what happened to ya.

Tools  / Options / Click the "tab" for Tabs "open new windows in tabs instead"  uncheck box.  Click Ok.

May be a deeper problem, but that should do it.

To answer your question, i did not have that problem but I quit using Firefox late last year, it kept crashing my computer, it was weird, I could use IE and Chrome with no prob.  I switched to SRWare Iron (Chrome that has been tweaked a bit) and never looked back.

You might want to tap each ctrl key to see if one is stuck. I think it's ctrl+click that opens in a new tab.

Nope both ctrl keys are free and clear.

Mine freaked out today as well. I shut it all down, and rebooted, and Firefox updated and was fine.

It appears the auto-update package this time doesn't work as cleanly as usual.

I shut down Firefox, it updated and the problem didn't go away.

Guess I'll try the shut down and reboot and see if that works.

Yup, just a firefox restart on the office computer didn't work well, had to reboot. However, on an identical computer at home, it worked fine. Perhaps they fixed the upgrade glitch sometime this afternoon.

On a second home computer, I started up firefox, and went to the About Firefox page. It showed that an update was loading, and then asked me to Restart Firefox. It restarted clean with version 19.02

Well the reboot did it. Firefox is back to well, normal I guess.

Thanks all!
