We really really need to get moderate Arab nations on board with this. If we go at it alone, then the Muslim world is likely to turn on us and we will have WWIII on our hands. The ultimate scenario for crushing Bin Laden is for the Arab nations to go in and clean house. If that happens, then Bin Laden and his ideals will be silenced. If the United States goes in and crushes Bin Laden, then he will become a martyr. There will be a backlash in the Muslim world. All we are going to end up doing is trading one extremist for another. We could end up making Bin Ladens idea of a Western/Islam war reality. |
